Special thanks to Dominic Hoskyns www.youtube.com/@dominichoskyns9091 for showing us what's possible on FoilDrive! Special thanks also to @WakeThief for showing us how foiling is done and testing all the wings! These guys are pushing the limits of foiling sport!

I have 16 months with the original Foil Drive and its added another dimension to my foiling fun. 2 hours in the surf yesterday with few waves ridden by others, but I was flying!

Hey Mike Z!!! This is an incredible video that you and the team at Jetsurfing Nation have made here, well done! You are right there is a HUGE skill jump from foiling to wing foiling and this Foildrive device may just be the answer all of us newbies are looking for! Awesome review with step by step tutorial on how each of your setups performed but still managed to be so entertaining and enjoyable to watch! I believe that Foildrive will ultimately help me get from struggling with my wing and give me the boost I need just to get up and get going! Ps that Aussie electrical plug will work just fine for me here in Oz!🤩👌 Thanks again - keep up the excellent work!!!

Great video! You answered just about all the questions I had. I have one question though, is it easy to remove the cable guides from the hardboard or does pulling them off damage the surface of the board. Thanks a lot for the video and effort that went into making it!!!
@JetSurfingNation Жыл бұрын
It’s not easy to remove. They are rubber glue one time use. When removed they do not damage the board at all. Clean the area with alcohol
@Surfingpilotlife Жыл бұрын
I there. Is there a solution to use to board for surf foiling or wingfoiling with the cable guides remaining on, without hurting yourself on your legs? E.g. Velcro or a dummy cable…?

Another outstanding video! Big upside to mention is the ability to travel by plane with these setups which is impossible with e-foils and their big batteries -they won't allow on the airlines.
@JetSurfingNation2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! To be fully fair those medium Foildrive batteries that i show in my video are not airplane friendly. However users can buy different small batteries that are airbplane friendly

Hey Mike, i have done a number of efoil lessons in Cape Town and love it. My only goal is to ride waves - similar to what you have been riding in this video. I’m at the point where I’m ready to buy gear. What do you think is better for riding waves? Fliteboard Pro with a truglide prop and flow s foil, or a similar size board and foil with a foil drive assist plus? Buying gear is a big investment and I have no way to demo the Foil Drive system here in Cape Town - so im trying to decide based on my limited efoil experience and watching videos like yours. Im 52 years old and weigh 95kg and am just too old / lazy to commit to pure prone foil surfing, but i love riding waves. How long can you session waves on a foil drive system? Does the lack of weight and drag that foil drive offers a significant benefit in natural ride feel over efoil wave ride set ups? Thanks for the videos!
@JetSurfingNation2 жыл бұрын
In your case I would suggest going with efoil first and after a couple of seasons if you feel like you hit the limits of efoil upgrade to foildrive with your own gear.

Ok. I See you where you are going. You build the skills to drop the motor at all. But, hey, great job! At your place you don't need the motor and you are ready to do it!

Placing the motor above the foil seems like a great idea for novices! That way the foil is always submerged

Awesome video. Folks like you, Dominic Hoskyns, SurfDocSteve and the entire FD owner community pushing the limits of this unique product has pushed me to finally cave and buy one of these units. Its still got a few quirks i hope they fix eventually but the ability to use smaller foil boards and wings and still get up even with little or no surf is a game changer. I don't want to foil in crowded lineups or where theres awesome surf, i want to tap into the other 95% of the ocean where no one typically plays. FD opens the doors to this.

Soooo what about a video Foil Drive vs StokeFoil
@JetSurfingNation Жыл бұрын
unfortunately current version of StokeFoil is not good enough for a comparison, it will lose in every category. Less power, less riding time, more drag etc. I dont see any advantages of having a huge bulky torpedo on the mast. Foildrive Gen2 wins in every way.
