Hi Jennifer ~ Your card is stunning and your family beautiful and clearly happy with life. I, too, would go the extra mile like you did. Once I get a thought in my head.....I have to go for it. My husband often rolls his eyes when I say, "Ooo, I have another idea," or "I need to run to the store." He's always supportive though, like Ken. I did laugh out loud at the part about all your die cuts being stuck together like the Barrel of Monkeys!! That's how Lila will learn!! Many blessing to you and your family throughout the coming year and thank you for making 2015 such a wonderful crafty year for all of us. #sharehandmadekindness

Our styles are so different, but I always enjoy your videos. After watching THIS video, I realize we are kindred spirits in more ways than I ever imagined. I too get an idea in my head and no matter how ridiculous or how much work it makes for me, I must carry on and go for it. My family doesn't understand. I made my wedding invitations in 1994-before the internet....I actually MADE the paper that covered the actual invitation. Literally made pulp, pulled the paper, dried it- and since there was no internet to teach me- no KZbin to show me- I couldn't figure out how to couch the papges and had to dry them individually on the screen form. Took freakin' forever. I had the invitations themselves printed on vellum- before anybody knew what vellum was- and had a blue "fade" which we now call ombre. But like you I needed a little metallic so I added gold leaf to every single handmade paper I made-just an abstract pattern on the front. So I get you and your "blessed" and your two-tone foil. .. I get you.

It is a huge project to me, but I only have one arm that works ok, and a back that doesn't work much at all. Our kids are all grown and my hubby works. I have to do the best I can with what's left of me LOL!!! My, Jennifer, you must have THE best feeling of accomplishment because these are gorgeous to the EXTREME! Bless Kristina's heart for doing the floral frame for you and your family for helping out. I also have "stop now," "back away" issues!!! You are so precious to innumerable people. Blessings to you and yours and thank you for all you do to teach the rest of us ♥ With aloha ♥

Jennifer, hoped you had a great holiday with your family. I'm like you, I love making cards for my family and friends. This year I made a card with trees and stars on it. It was so pretty. I also made my daughter 3 sets of note cards that she can use. I put pictures of her children and dog on them. She loved them!!!!!

Love your family photo card! I make Christmas cards for close family and then as time runs out I start making "Happy New Year" cards for the rest! The wish is just as heartfelt and I want to stay in touch this time of year - so it works for me without becoming totally crazy over cards - since I have decorating and baking to also become crazy over!

I would have cut the centers of the gold cards and used them for other projects rather than covering it all up with the card...of course, it would then have to be mounted on another piece of cardstock the same size as the gold card.

So you can't use an ink jet printer to do this project? Beautiful card!!!
@tainadelcaribe9 жыл бұрын
No, it will not work because the foil only adheres to toner (which is what laser printers use) and not at all to liquid ink (which is what ink jets use). You can find laser printers starting around $60; I think Brother makes the cheapest (but good) that I have seen. Also printing them at UPS Store, Staples, Office Max/Depot, or Kinko's is not expensive at all and you can bring your own cardstock so the print out matches your project.
