Just curious, have you considered making the hull out of carbon fiber, how much lighter would it be, and how much quicker it would fly over the water?
@FulcrumSpeedworks Жыл бұрын
Considered it. An extra knot of windspeed is free. A carbon hull is thousands of dollars more and actually negatively impacts durability while massively reducing the number of people who can afford it. So if being poorer and alone is worth flying a knot sooner, it's a huge win.

@@josephhagen4493 how fast does it go?
@josephhagen44934 жыл бұрын
Toxic Acromatic around 18 MPH on like 35 knots wind, not that good. Maybe buy a cat 16 or 14 they are faster
@josephhagen44934 жыл бұрын
Also, to get them to foil, you need an insane amount of wind, if you are for foiling, just buy a foiling windsurf, not this. Overpriced. Too heavy. Slow. Me and my son can go much faster on my RS Cat 16 on the same wind, we raced, and he won on his cat, I lost on my UFO.
@josephhagen44934 жыл бұрын
Also, once you foil, you lean so much, unless the wind is like 30knots, so the foil is so short.

Bernardo Hagen this coming from a jack wagon who gets worked up because someone compared a foil to a catamaran? To the point he felt it necessary to throw a “goddam” into the statement. Who’s the child? People in glass houses buddy. You’re obviously one of those snobby clubhouse know it all assholes that look down your nose at everyone. Whatever justifies your life though

What would it be like to kite-power this foil cat? Has someone tried?
@fabioprb35384 жыл бұрын
Just.... Amazing! I think that by training and get confident it is not so difficult like 49er or foiling on moth or a wasp either. It should be just a quest of momentum and balance to foil the ufo.
@FulcrumSpeedworks4 жыл бұрын
That's correct. We find that the thing differentiating the UFO vs other performance boats is that you can START learning it from almost any skill level, wheras you normally need a pretty high skill level to start learning moths, 49ers etc. Check out this girl sailing a boat for her second time ever: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2rKf4ahpt5jm80
