Two German World War I fighter aircraft (a 1918 Fokker D.VIII and a 1917 Albatros D.Va) perform at one of the weekend air shows at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Rhinebeck, NY. The high-winged Fokker D.VIII is equipped with a 160 HP Gnome rotary engine and was built, flown by and is privately owned by Brian Coughlin. The Albatros is a reproduction that was built in the 1970s by Cole Palen, founder of the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, and is flown by Mark Mondello in this video. Air shows take place every Saturday and Sunday from mid-June through mid-October. The Rhinebeck Aerodrome Museum focuses on aircraft and vehicles built an operated between 1900 and 1940 is open daily from May 1 through October 31. Biplane rides are available.
