These tables can be very heavy to move, so this is a fantastic idea, just what I'm looking for in a sewing table, thank you for the video

This is a pretty solid little workbench. While once you figure out how it comes together, it is physically Easy to assemble kzbin.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh by yourself. But the diagrams explaining the steps are really pretty bad. I could not get the handle pins in all the way despite multiple attempts, so I just used a screw I had on hand for the 2nd handle. I could not get the first pin in further or pull it back out. You are supposed to hammer it in, but I had no leverage and the handle is plastic and I did not want to risk breaking it. I will get a lot of use out of the bench because of the convenient size and height. It does fold up nicely for storage. They even explain how to fold it so you don't get pinched...that is important!

I'm so happy that I noticed your video. I have been planning on getting the same table (hopefully, like you, second-hand) and modifying it in much the same way so that it can be used in the craft room in my new house. You have provided focus for me, so thank you so much! You are lucky that your girlfriend is okay with you moving your tools and workbench into her living room 😁

Hallo, I’m very happy, that a lot of you liked the video and got inspired by it. Some of you kept asking about a link to the last wheels I used (the ones with the angle iron) and I would really love to provide you with a direct link, but as I’m from Germany, it’s really hard to even find results from outside of Germany. Not to mention, assess the shop, so I could give you a recommendation with a good conscience. But, here are some search terms, which rendered some results for me: Swivel Corner Castor Angle iron Casters Angle mount casters Angle Iron Stem Casters I hope it helps in finding these castors / wheels and if someone finds a good source for them in the US (or somewhere else), please share it in the comments. Your help would be much appreciated by the ones searching as well. Philip

Interesting that I came across this video. My thoughts exactly....was planning to add wheels to make it more mobile. I'd wished that wheels had already came with it. Would have made too much sense, right?

I am quite surprised people aren't using this table for a portable MFT actually! I have an old Norden table I bought a couple years ago I don't use anymore. I am definitely adding some castors to it, along with holes from a 3D printed template for making an ideal MFT table!

Fantastic!! Did you add the pieces under the table top that the legs locked into? The Ikea website does not show anything under the top of the table to keep the legs from moving and that worries me. If so, how did you do that? Brilliant. Just brilliant. Thanks!

Thanks. I bought the table used, so i cannot say for sure, but it seems that these block came with the table and the assembly instructions on the IKEA website confirms it. But i did worry about the same problem 😅😊

Thanks. I went to website last night and reviewed the assembly instructions. The pieces were included, just not shown in the photo. I also tried to find the right angle caster you used. They are not sold in the U.S. Thanks for the reply. Stay safe.

Hi Philip, great job on installing the wheels and i planning to do it also. May I know the whell dimensions? 1 Inch wheel?
@MrPhilipBecker
@MrPhilipBecker 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. I live in the metric world, so the diameter of the wheel is 50 mm, which is somewhere around 2 in. They are rated for 40 kg each (=around 80 lbs). Hope i could help 😊

Hi there, great job with your Maker Space! I have the same table and I’ve been trying to figure out how to put castor wheels on it forever now - how did you decide what weight capacity for the castors (combined or individually) would be enough? The table on its own is already quite heavy, so I’m concerned that I’ll need to add really big, heavy-duty castors to also support projects/my sewing machine, etc
@MrPhilipBecker
@MrPhilipBecker 2 жыл бұрын
Hey. Thanks. The castors i used aren't that big (50 mm diameter), but are still rated 40 kg each. So the 4 castors for the main body together hold up to 160 kg. That's a lot. The table itself is probably not more than 30 kg, so there is enough capacity left for your projects. My girlfriend uses her sewing machine on the table all the time without a problem.

Thanks for the video, really good for learning! But the volume is too high in the music. I had to change volume every time you talked (so I could hear you) or played music (so I don't wake up my family). Anyway, still really good, cheers!

Julia, I agree with you. Mr. Becker did an excellent job with this video, although I didn't care for the volume of music as well. The drum beats (3:40) were a little bit too much for me and doesn't add any value to this video.
