These organs were carried by Pardres. Many had a section in the top to hold either Communion gear or hymn books. They were used in the first war also

Obviously an Estey organ. I have a very similar organ that was produced towards the end of the Estey company in the mid 1950s. They are really too heavy to be carried by the handle by one person. Just because there’s a handle on top doesn’t mean it’s portable. Take long steady steps when playing, like walking.

Lovely folding organ you have, sir! Great work.

I have a similar Liberty organ that dates back to WW1. It's a lot more fragile than yours, and a little simpler - and a bit wobbly when set up - but it plays well. Thank you for sharing yours.

Great sound. It is not an organ but a harmonium.
@garysmith394 Жыл бұрын
Sorry, this is not a harmonium. Harmoniums work on air pressure, not suction. I have an Estey reed organ exactly like this. Harmoniums were generally European made while suction organs were called "American Organs".

If someone "kicked" the pedals on any of my pump organs, especially one of my field organs, they would get "KICKED"!,!, those pedals are for PUMPING, NOT KICKING!!!
@garysmith394 Жыл бұрын
You are so correct. The pedals are not kicked, but pressed down alternately (pumped).

Anch'io! Suono uno in nuestra iglesia. (A pump organ, not a folding one though)
