"Folk psychology" refers to our capacity to explain and predict the behaviour of other people by attributing mental states to them. This video examines the theory-theory, which claims that folk psychology is literally a theory, analogous to scientific theories.

I doubt you'll see this as this is a super old video, but on the claim that folk psychology is acquired independent of culture: I think the cultures sampled aren't diverse enough to substantiate the claim. This is a gripe I have with a lot of these types of arguments. All the cultures sampled are (post) industrial literate cultures. You could also use a study like this to support the idea that writing or counting are not products of culture, which I think is untrue. Pretty obvious when it comes to writing, but maybe not so obvious when it comes to counting and numeracy generally. To be fair, there's a lot of debate on this subject (how to define numeracy, how to measure it, etc.) from what I've seen. What I do know is that a number of "primitive" cultures have been observed to have no language for describing quantity. The general pattern was having a word for 1, 2, and 3. Anything past that was "many" and judged instead by size. At the time I learned this, counting was so intuitive I just assumed it was an essential part of normal human development like language.
