I have been told by the engineers that assembled this plane and prepared it for flight after it arrived in New Zealand that it has a Shvetsov ASh-82 engine. This engine has very similar specifications to the original German BMW 801 Radial. Google Shvetsov_ASh-82 , or BMW_801 Radial to compare engines. or google Focke Wulf FW-190 A8/N ZK-RFR for more about this plane.

No, it is a new build to original info by Flugwerk in germany. I believe this was the first of approximately 20 aircraft or kits they built. They used a few original components that were available. The tailwheel gear assembly is original WW2 surplus itemI believe, I don't know what else. There is some info on Flugwerk website. Nice plane.

Love to have my own Folke-Wulf with functioning cannons and everything. I'd fly it into Frankfurt international airport, right up to the terminal and go to arrivals. 😅🇩🇪

Unfortunately not. I have read that there are some replicas (based upon the Flugwerk Fw 190 A8/N version with an Allison engine due to lack of Jumo engines) are being built, but have not yet been completed airworthy.

There is such appeal for these aircraft amongst enthusiates - some with very deep pockets, that I want to see BMW put the engine back in production and i would like to see Airbus start production of the aircraft - by the thousand!

Sadly not. But there is one in running and tax condition in the US! FlugWerk has made Doras with Allison engines.

Yes the engine is a Russian design based on license-built Cyclone engines because the original BMW engines are too rare for these replica Fw190s. The ASh-82 engines were manufactured in China.

mit dem bmw 801 motor+ dem steuergerät,mit dem die motoreinstellungen per joystic optimiert wurden war die fw 190 das beste jagdflugzeug weltweit.leider gibt es kein original mehr,nur nachbauten von flugwerk mit dem langweiligem ash motor aus china+ohne steuergerät.
