My Grenadian hubby grew up with his mother making bread. I had made bread just for fun in Jamaica. When we moved to Canada I made 10lbs of flour into bread for our family of 7 each week I made it all by hand and put in freezer. Later on when kids were grown and I was working my hubby bought 2 bread machines. He had fun as he was retired making not just loaves but garlic and onion buns and twists and braided bread. After he passed I gave my daughter in law one machine. RIP SB.

That looks so.... much better than mine!! Admittedly, I did not find your video until _after_ I had baked my very first loaf this morning. When I was a very young child I didn't eat the crusts, now it is my favorite part. I typed up your instructions for myself to follow. Correct me if I made any mistakes. Ingredients 1 tsp salt 2 1/2 tbsp brown sugar (or substitute raw honey) 2 1/2 cups bread flour 1 tsp yeast (how much?) (don't pour directly on salt) mix dry ingredients well add 2 tbsp melted cooled butter 1 1/2 cup lukewarm water (or part milk) mix until "shaggy" (I saw that word in another video before finding yours) remove from bowl place a little flour on table knead until stickiness is gone and it's easy to work with grease bowl with vegetable oil put dough in bowl and work it around cover and let stand for 1 hour gently "punch" dough down to remove air (gas) pockets remove from bowl gently knead and form into size of pan further pat down gently roll into loaf fold over and seal (pinch) together where needed gently tuck into pan cover with plastic wrap and let stand for 45 minutes (if dough hasn't risen enough the yeast isn't active) preheat oven to 380 F (190-200 C) gently brush melted butter on loaf bake on middle rack for 35-40 minutes remove from oven and place on cooling rack brush with melted butter Slice and enjoy with favorite topping Mmmm!! Yummy!

New subscriber here, Ms. Debbie! I am trying to go back to the ways of old tradition. I'm an amateur cook and want to learn to make homemade bread for my family. I passed up so many videos until I saw you. You look like a God-fearing woman which seems to be a distinct look nowadays but I know I'm right about you. It's in the way you speak and carry yourself, like something in your spirit that's been carried down through generations. Anyway, I can't wait to learn more from you! I would give you a hug if I could. Much love.
