Thank you for your informative video. I grow Carolina reapers, scorpions, ghosts, 7 pots, habaneros, scotch bonnets and jalapeños. I think the scotch bonnet is my favourite hot pepper. All the best to all you pepper growers! Cheers!

You're welcome Ruck27. And thanks for responding to the viewer above, I forgot I'd promised her a video on pepper diseases. I'll have to do one soon. You didn't mention hot chocolate habanero in your list of peppers. I have 2 plants in my garden. Is it popular?

I am planting for the first year this year! I already caught "the bug" and am excited to grow my scotch bonnets. I have never tasted one, or even seen one so I am sure it will be a great experience. Due to my situation, I am needing to use grow bags, what size of bag do you recommend I use? I have a variety of sizes.
@thelmamccatty9181Ай бұрын
Great move! If you're growing your scotch bonnet plants for only one season, a 3 gallon grobag should be sufficient. But select a larger size if you're in a warm location and can keep the plants growing outdoors for an extended period (2 years or more).

I compared my plants to yours at the same stage of growth and its not close. My roots are dark, undeveloped and spindly. Stem is leggy and leaves look Good but are few. I pruned them to help make them bushier but I dont think these will make it due to the weak roots

Oh dear! Seems like your scotchies had a poor start in life and it may be better to try again using healthier seedlings😳. Hopefully the advice given in this video will result in your next set of scotch bonnet plants looking even better than mine🤞😊💕

Are your books in the book stores in Jamaica
@thelmamccatty91816 ай бұрын
They are ebooks only. If you haven't done so yet, please follow the Bookfusion link at the end of the description to find out more about them. They are written for high school students and others pursuing NVQ certifications in agriculture. Actually, I'm interested in finding a publisher or an agent to market them properly.

Great video where I can find the seeds to buy. Thank you.
@thelmamccatty9181 Жыл бұрын
While you can check your usual farm stores or nursery centre, what I usually do is take the seeds from ripe, fresh fruits with the desired bonnet shape. You can buy these fruits in a supermarket, market or directly from a farmer. Maybe I can do a short video showing how to extract the seeds?

Great comment. I agree pests and diseases can rob you of a good crop. I'll do a video focusing on this aspect in 3 - 4 weeks. Thanks for your support👍💕

Is it maybe too much water? Pepper plants don’t need a lot of water. Just water them when the leaves start to droop down. Also I cut any stems or leaves at the bottom of the plant. A lot of diseases come from when the soil splashes up and gets on the leaves. So water with care and have a good 6 inches of clearance between the plant stems and soil.

I guess the heat of these peppers don't affect the pests.
