What's the importance of the unused pins grounding to the chassis? I have an av-sw2m switch with 70-60dB isolation but won't ground the other pin. I use it with my Yaesu Ft710 transceiver and RSPdx SDR receiver, connecting them to the one antenna.

Dennis, the idea basically is that what you're not using is isolated from what you are using. The way they achieve that isolation is to take the center pin to ground, and any current would go straight out to ground. Have you tested your switch with a meter? I'd almost bet money the unused side is grounded to the chassis.

Can you still use a switch for two radios if your shack is not grounded.
