I live and ride on London. A lot of the motorcycle theives have taken to riding high powered (stolen) 500cc scooters. The trouble is that these scooters are very fast and maneuverable. It's very hard to shake them off. I've seen it happen. When you flee, you still instinctively consider the safety of other road users and pedestrians. You also don't want to damage your bike. The thieves have no such considerations, they ride on pavements at break-neck speeds, I've seen them going the wrong way on dual carriageways. Best way that I've seen is to out brake them. A good motorcycle generally has far superior braking ability than a scooter, and - crucially most bike thieves won't have done any rider training so don't know how to brake properly. Ride fast and brake hard. When being pursued is a good idea to sound your horn as much as possible. You want to draw as much attention to yourself - and the thieves - as possible. Don't ride in circles, remember where you first saw them and drive in one direction _away_ from that locale. Gang members and theives feel more confident in their own turf and much less so as they depart from it - potentially into other gangs turf. They will likely break off pursuit if they enter another gangs turf. Traffic lights are where most jackings happen. Bearing in mind that many of these theives have knives - I personally would treat a red light as I would a roundabout - plan ahead, scan oncoming traffic, filter to the front, go through and slot in safely. One tip is to hit a busy road, and whilst filtering knock the wing mirrors of the cars as you go by. This will enrage the car drivers who will 'close ranks' and block the scooter/ bike following you! They think you're all idiots together and will do all possible to block you. There are some pro gangs that steal bikes to order. These people do not chase you. They are much more organised. If they want your bike they will get it when you park up. You'll be none the wiser.

The owners already have trackers installed on them that alert the local police. Certain scooters have much better brakes than motorcyles tho.

One lad coming the opposite way was being chased by two balaclava clad scrotes on a battered scooter and he waved at me and pointed behind him. I spun mine round and chased them and tried to ram their back wheel with my XJR1200, easily a winner in a pushing contest but they rode off through a paved area of a housing estate. They had been chasing the lad for about half a mile.

They never wear helmets, just balaclavas to hide their faces as we have a ridiculous law over here where police can't chase them if no helmet is worn as it will make them ride recklessly endangering their own lives. If they crash they usually remove themselves from the gene pool. Zero sympathy. live by the sword, die by the sword. I tried giving them a friendly tyre nudge to scare them but they turned fast onto a pathway and I thought fuck them, let them go.

@sigi96692 жыл бұрын
@@ph11p3540 That's a bit of an oversimplification, but I'm guessing you know that. With every police department being stretched for resources, they obviously have to assess each call to determine whether a response is needed. And if so, what the response should be. The assessment to dispatch or not won't take more then a few seconds in a case like this. All the questions after that are to inform the officers, who are already on their way at that point. That being said. In order to save every possible second, I usually make myself a person of interest. By stating "such and such is happening, and I'm gonna engage the f*ckers now!". By stating I'm probably about to hurt someone there's no question about the necessity of police intervention. And I find they usually show up rather quickly.. :-)

In these instances you do what you need to do. If someone finds themselves in this situation, ride as quickly and safely as possible to a police station and ride right up to the entrance! They were up to no good and you did what you needed to do to drop them. One thing to consider is that a three up bike like that takes some pulling up, if they’re at the side of you, hit the anchors and spin around and go the other way. Do a quick U Turn, no way could they turn around like a solo rider, you’d be out of sight in a breath ... IOM TT next mate 😁 I reckon you’d be pretty quick around the island 😉

You rode with as much care and safety as you could to evade a potentially dangerous situation. Sure it was risky, the fact you maintained such good control and kept checking traffic shows you were not reckless or stupid though. As someone else said, would have done the same any day of the week

This is Sheffield, my home town. Some good mates are bikers local to the city and as far as i understand the problem with bike theft, it's everywhere, not just London as so many of the videos depict of course. I can completely understand the motives for this biker's evasive action. I'd probably be the same, but a far less experienced rider would be far more at risk of hurting themselves in this situation. That's another knock on effect that bike thieves create.

I know that area, Sheffield manor top, I do Deliveroo on a moped and I always avoid going to that area for any deliveries because it’s filled with them, that’s why I moved to a car so I don’t have to deal with those thieves again

my advice in these situations is do the loop trick which is go fast but go round a figure of 8 pattern through housing estates, keep watching for them, if you no longer see them, next turn that isnt a cul-de-sac take it, theyll think theyre being smart setting up a possible trap, when really theyre just there hiding lil bell ends waiting for someone who wont turn up, ive also used a roundabout before now too, one of the big ones you get for motorways, just loop round it theyll try keeping up on a bike thats overloaded and theyll either slow down or low side it and slide, if they slow down, make sure you keep going round, moment you lose sight or they lose sight, take the turn off and then next turn as soon as possible, to them youll have just vanished. my best experience was getting chased by two stolen sports bikes, i know how to ride fast over ruts and bumps on old roads, it was the single most satisfying thing taking a corner at 80mph, foot peg making sparks and i look in mirror to see the idiots go straight across both lanes and into some trees, turned back after to see if they were ok, at which point id met with some friends, I'm not a evil person, they came out covered in their own blood from cuts and one was crying in the trees about a broken leg. they got out safe... one of the lads who i was meeting was a medic, the other 6, off duty officers.

Similar thing happened to me, 3 guys, 150cc scooter (I was on a 125 razorback) make sure to stay cool, you can shake them off with braking, it worked for me and when they are right next to you is the best time for it, they may attempt a u turn to get back to you, just accelerate away and do your best to get out of sight

I'd probably have (carefully) gone through the red lights. I mean, if a police officer sees you, stops you and asks you why you did it, you can say, erm, I was trying to get away from the balaclava clad kids who are three up and have been chasing me for 10 minutes! 😂

As soon as I saw this video thumbnail I knew you were on Arbourthorne. You did the right thing turning right around and putting your foot down to get down East Bank Road and gun it to Queen's Road Roundabout as soon as you could.
