I was in the nursing program at BYU with Jenet and even back then she was such a jewel!! Instead of profaning she would say the funniest thing: “Oh my heavenly stars” or “Oh my laws”. It always made me laugh. I’ve been saying “oh my laws” for 25 years and now my adult children say it, and it all stems back to Jenet 😊

I am living and teaching in China. Where I live we only have zoom church. But recently I was able to travel on train to Chengdu where we met as a group of 20 saints, still over zoom, with some of the talks live, for this district conference. It’s SO Wonderful to meet together and feel the spirit together. We need each other!

For the last little while I have had these thoughts rolling around in my mind... First, covenant is symbolized by a separation and a mending through covenant. Then, I have repeatedly had this thought - There is nothing we can break that God can't fix. In fact, in order to make our brokenness sacred, we offer up the pieces to the atonement and allow Christ to heal it. That is the essence of covenant.

Brother Bytheway, when I told you I loved your stuff at the BYU Baseball game, this is what I was talking about. Thanks for giving me some hope. Not just you, but Brother Smith and all your wonderful guests.

Your comments around marker 23 is an answer to my prayers. As A grandmother, to learn that a couple brothers are not speaking to each other after their parents have died, when they had been so close before their parents death, it breaks my heart. But your words bring comfort to my soul because if anyone can bring the children together in love, it is our Father in heaven and our Savior, Jesus Christ. And though I've read it many times in the Book of Mormon, today my eyes of understanding has been made clear! Thank you, Dr. Erickson, John and Hank! Thank you!

At 30 min, you are so right about the ward family. I'm from Paradise, California. Our entire town burned to the ground. My ward family scattered. It is a loss I can't describe. 5. yrs, later we are trying to mend, but it is difficult. Please know what a blessing your ward family is warts and all, if I may say.

From San Diego, CA, America's finest city. I took a class in Hungarian at BYU circa 1975 - the Hungarian word for Church is "Egyhaz" - literally "One House". I think that is pertinent to the discussion about being one church - one house, one family - but many places of gathering. Love to listen to your programs - though tough to find the most recent episode with my browser. By the way, time to get your youtube/podcast translated into a few other languages.
