This made me feel nostalgic ... I wish I had a friend like you when I was a kid / teen. When I was 14 I used to read, play, imagine, write and doodling a lot. I wanted to become an inventor / scientist as a grown up so I used to craft mechanisms and tools out of garbage. My classmates tagged me as weird and childish, because I still played with toys and I was always carrying my big pencil case and notebook. I was the first on my class and generation, my favorite subjects were ... all! but I loved physics and maths. I had no friends until I changed school when I was 16. That school was better in education level and my classmates found I was cool and respected me. That year I met my best friend, she is the smartest woman I know. I Hadn't changed at all, it was just the environment where I was immersed due to my economical situation (I got a scholarship in the new school, otherwise it wasn't affordable). Then I enrolled in a science and engineering program and specialized in physics at the top university in my country. I'm now on graduate School and I'm a lecturer at another university's physics department. I'm living my childhood dream and If I could travel in time to 10 years ago and meet my 14 year old me, I would hug her and tell her that she's precious and She'll meet marvelous people while following her path. Sorry for extend myself so much, but if somebody can relate to this and is struggling with bullying or feeling out of place, don't worry bud: If you're not hurting anyone you'll be fine, you'll find the right people as you follow your passion and cultivate your skills...
@darksideofthemoon31854 жыл бұрын
I was the same as you when I was 14...but things went different...toxic teachers...bullies...twofaced friends...depression...I became a complete different person when I was in grade 12 and I totally missed all my chances...If only I could go back in time...the regret doesn't leave me alone even in my dreams(nightmares). @@kadirkaratas8081 I have a lot of respect and admiration for her, and enjoy her videos. But I'm also not sure how I feel about 'productivity culture'. I don't feel like it's healthy or necessary to be productive/write to-do lists every day. Balance is important. Equally, being largely lazy but finding ways to work smart/hard when it counts is fine, I reckon. Obviously everyone is different though.
@missaloha19884 жыл бұрын
@@Mushroom1512 :D Good luck. Everyone is different, but I don't think you need to be super focused or productive at 14. Probably most people who want to get into a good uni will need to put some work in later on, but it depends on the person. Personally I think that finding ways to work smart/efficiently is the best approach, as it'll give you time to relax on top of studying.

Thank you so much for your videos, Ruby! They make me feel inspired and motivated. Do u have any tips for learning Spanish I just started learning it a year ago in school
@matata98964 жыл бұрын
Lou Xxx sooo i am not sure hehe, i guess you could start with vocabulary and the laws of accentuation in the different words. Then you could start with grammar and the different tenses, i wouldn’t recommend you, at first, to study much in depth the different elements in the sentences bc that’s pretty hard, you should keep it simple. Some common mistakes or problems that you may encounter are the genders of the words (in spanish every word has a gender and depending on that you have to change some letters and words in the sentence), also there are lots of tenses so that can be hard too. A tip could be that you start watching shows with spanish subtitles, i wouldn’t recommend you watching shows directly in spanish bc there are lots of accents that may confuse you, you could also read short stories or poems to help you comprehend better the structure of sentences and to learn more vocabulary. i don’t even know if what i said made any sense lol English is not my native language sorry ❤️

Just don't put to much stuff. You'll end up overworking yourself. It's better to be realistic and put things that you know you'll actually do. Breaks are important! I hope that was a little helpful. Also sorry if there're mistakes, English it's not my first language. 💗
@hamzadaudali60194 жыл бұрын
When making a revision timetable make sure you are; 1. Giving yourself clear breaks - breaks are important while studying as it will make it more unlikely to suffer from burn out which might mean that you are less focused closer to exam time. We recommend using short sessions that are targeted to specific subjects or a specific exam paper. 2. Not only spending time on one subject - if you are doing GCSE or A-Level (or the equivalent) you may be doing up to 12 or 13 subjects. You then must make sure that you are having a balance of all your subjects to make sure that you are covering all the content for you 3. Printing the timetable out - having a copy that is up in your room will make it more likely that you use it as it is in front of you. Also give a copy to your parents to make sure that they know when you will be busy revising so if they are more likely not to disturb you 4. Keeping it flexible - make sure that you make any changes to the timetable cleanly, so it still looks presentable. You might find yourself changing the timetable as you get closer to the exam and you find you need to put more focus into a subject you find harder 5. Colour coding - colour code subjects so they stand out when you are looking at your timetable
