You forgot to mention in the description box that those are also the places where Luther taught that any Jewish religious leader that would not convert to Christianity should be killed and his property, books, and synagogue burned. It is also the place that Luther added the word "alone" to his translation of scripture so that it read saved by faith alone. It is also the place where Luther wrote to the tutor of his children instructing him to drink a great deal and to sin from time to time. It is also the place where Luther told the nobles to kill the rebel peasants who were demanding fair treatment either in public with a trial or in secret without one.

"The unproven does not mean it can be dismissed without evidence if that which came has a source. It is by common sense that we rely on reason and conclude that this source was what created at the beginning of time; ergo, cause and effect." William Lane Craig, winner of the debate against Hitchens.

I defend it because I love what my ancestors are. What they have done. And what I aspire for a better future. You, on the other hand, rely on no future, with little guidance but your own. You say religion is the problem, when you deny the good things it has done. The facts are found in the miracles. If one man were to say,"But a miracle is a trick." that would mean that since a forged banknote is a trick, the bank doesn't exist either. Man does not and cannot always rely on human senses only.

"Whenever we read the obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel and torturous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness, with which more than half the Bible is filled, it would be more consistent that we called it the word of a demon than the word of God. It is a history of wickedness, that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind; and, for my part, I sincerely detest it, as I detest everything that is cruel." -- Age of Reason (18th century), by Thomas Paine

Morality is dictated by society, not religion. Laws are created by other people so we coexist together in harmony, not in superstition.

Numbers 31[Verse 17, Moses says:] "Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by lying with him. But all the young girls who have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves."

That's hardly an argument. If not the Bible, which is filled with a variety of book, then Tacitus' Annals or Josephus' Jewish Antiquities may give you more incite. Either way, these are the facts as they're played through. One explains the other. The original copies were written in either Aramaic or Koine Greek. But just because the originals aren't here, doesn't mean that it's all wrong. And you have no proof for any vices being taken by 12 men with nothing to gain from preaching a truth.

These are all teachings of the Old Testament, abrogated by the New Testament. "If a man would seek martyrdom, then such a man is a good man." --Edward Carlyle. "The world is full of bad people, but people who follow Christ's teachings are the most human; the most humane." --Diana Betinsworth "Atheists have no moral ground to stand on. Their founders are criminals, murderers and thieves." --Martin Kain

And you discount the 300 prior years of Christianity. All that persecution, only a madman would've joined. Constantine only declared tolerance of Christianity, not its enforcement. It wasn't until Valentinian that Christianity became the Empire's religion. But that was much later from Constantine in 380s. And gee, if the bible is bad, please, lecture me.

You are contradicting yourself. I have offered evidence for God's existence. But you refuse it. The four books of the Bible, plus the letters of the Apostles, plus the letters of the evangelists on the lives of the Apostles is evidence that what they saw was true. Not to mention, I even stated secular letters on the incidents; both Jewish and Pagan, and you still ignore these things. You say I'm being unreasonable, but have you looked in the mirror? That's hardly the face of reason.
@MontChevalier12 жыл бұрын
Cause you haven't presented evidence He doesn't exist either. Just because we can't prove something, doesn't mean it's not there. No proof doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. It just means it's not proven.
@JOHNINCOLUMBUS12 жыл бұрын
And still you haven't presented on shred of evidence for your Imaginary Friend...why not?
@MontChevalier12 жыл бұрын
By the way, I have my evidence. I've stated it. You've ignored it. Now show me where your evidence is. In the logical world, you need evidence that's contrary to mine. Show it to me.

And to answer one apologist with another, here, look up G.K. Chesterton. And try being more open-minded. Chesterton has books. Those things you don't use? Yeah. Try those.

He revealed himself this way. Do I have proof it's a male? No. Can I prove it? Only with the available information; i.e. the Bible. You can't make something outside time and space to appear within. I'd rather hear your definition.
@JOHNINCOLUMBUS12 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, interesting how your Christian god is always a "HE", and not a "SHE" or an "IT", why is that? One further point, I don't even know your definition of "God", what is that?

I suggest you read and listen to Lawrence Krauss "Something from Nothing" he has videos on KZbin, he can answer your questions much better than I can. And guess what, he doesn't make up stories and create characters of supernatural abilities to compensate for reality, he uses a proven method called SCIENCE...have you ever heard of it? The reason I ask is because your posting don't point to you having any knowledge of SCIENCE...but rather religious fiction. Lawrence Krauss, yes look him up.

Yes, I admit, because that's reason. Which you lack. These Gods are no more different than demons or superstitions created by human psyche or ancestral worship. The God I worship is real because unlike the other Gods, only this one was made known. Seeing as you've ignored so much, answer me this: How can nothing create the universe? I have given my evidence for what I believe. Where is yours? Can you disprove the existence of God?
@JOHNINCOLUMBUS12 жыл бұрын
I hate to keep going back to this point, however it is necessary, since, as of yet, you have not provided one scrap of evidence in your defense of the existence of god, nothing...so why should I continue wasting my energy on you?
@JOHNINCOLUMBUS12 жыл бұрын
So you've just admitted to other gods that were worshiped, hmm, so where are those gods now? When a god stops being worshiped what happens to him/her/it? Is this sounding ridiculous, because it should. The god you worship is no more real than all others that were the invention of some man's mind, they are all the same, non-existent. Why you would take this seriously really speaks to your mentality, and gullibility, I feel sorry for you.
@MontChevalier12 жыл бұрын
How do you make something that exists outside time and space to simply appear? You call reason ignorance? It's reasonable to believe that there is a cause and effect to everything. The creation of the Universe needs a cause. I asked you, what is the cause? You said nothing. So then you exist for nothing. And all life is meaningless and Hitler can do whatever he wants. On the the hand, in my belief, the cause is granted by will, that a being that exists outside time and space willed. Disprove me.
@MontChevalier12 жыл бұрын
You are unreasonable. And illogical. You say there is no evidence for God, yet if we bring you the records of all mankind and say,"Here is your evidence." you say these people people were superstitious, they believe in impossible things. That's a clear contradiction on your part. Religion is the answer to the wider world around us. It gives us direction and it, whether you like it or not, made Europe. St. Thomas Aquinas created the first-cause argument. Which has yet to be refuted.
@JOHNINCOLUMBUS12 жыл бұрын
And those are but a few of the evil, vile, verses the Bible has to offer...it's a book designed to scare the gullible masses into servitude, it is wicked, and should be treated with contempt...and I do!
