When the road opens up without traffic, cz33s pulls away, the dashcam car catches up up when there is traffic

You could be back on the throttle sooner exiting corners. Get on the gas quicker even though it will push you wide leaving the corner. Any time spent on trailing throttle is wasted. Be accelerating or braking or cornering maximum. Everything else is wasted time. Lapping at pro level is like a vigorous funpark ride: pretty fierce g-forces a lot of the time. The ring is maybe not the place to practice because who can afford the 50+ laps you need to do to commit the circuit to muscle memory?

I agree that I could open up sooner. Don't quite agree on the trailing throttle and braking/accelerating, especially on the Nordschleife. There are at least a few places where going with constant half-throttle makes sense. There are places where lifting makes sense instead of braking, esp. on a low powered light car like Swift. I also generally try to lift the throttle when I see a faster traffic approaching so they could overtake me before the corner and we both could get back to doing our thing. I've actually did exactly 50 laps in 2024 (and maybe around 20-30 in 2023 when I came to the ring for the first time). Though half of those laps were in a different car. I don't think 50 laps is enough for me. At this point I remember the corners quite well, but still don't have muscle memory for braking and acceleration points, so have to rely quite heavily on references, which I luckily I remember quite well by now.

@@rotary_64 It's fine of course to be half throttle if that puts you on the limit. I also have a Swift RS416. My observations derive from observing that you weren't working hard enough in my opinion. It seemed to me you were 7 tenths. Have you had a check lap with a professional driver?

@@rosskelly8268 7/10 sounds about right. Maybe I'll be able to push harder and get to around low 9 min times, but don't really want to push harder than 80-85% during TF.

I am surprised about the 33s not being thaaaaat much faster. I was thinking about getting a 33s but at the end decided to save a ton and go for a 31s. I was worried about the performance. At the end of the day tho, I think it is plenty fast for the public roads.

Maybe the driver of 33 wasnt that skilled. Anyway, i have read many time as well, that 33 is "much" faster car then last 2 generations before, but in reality its actually not that "much" faster. The way i see it, the turbo engine in 33, since it has higher torque and starts to pull already in mid range - from 2500 rpm , for many ppl it makes an illusion of much faster car, but if you check the real numbers, especially compared to 32, the difference is actually not that big. (And by "big" i mean its not a few seconds difference) But i cant deny that Boosterjet engine, as any turbo engine, pulls better at higher speeds, up to 180kph goes nicely. Also its much easier to tune.

@@billywalker681 Totally agree, I believe the 0-100 Km/h time difference between the 32 and 33 is in the range of 1 second. The 33 has much more tuning potential tho. The 33 with an ECU tuning should be a lot of fun.

@@YuichiTamaki Not trying to make a rocket science out of it, but if both stock, with MT and shifting correctly, then 0-100 kph with ZC33 can be done in 7,1 sec, ZC32 in 7,3 sec. ZC33s shares the same gear ratios with 32, but since 32 revs higher, then you have to shift only once to get to 100kph, while in 33, you have to shift twice. But in higher speeds above 130kph, ZC33 pulls better. Anyway, both cars are great, with their own pros and cons.

I think ZC33S driver wasn't pushing. I've never driven ZC33S, though I image it should be way faster: weight is similar and 140ps/230Nm vs 125ps/148Nm is a fairly big difference. I like that it could be relatively easily tuned to around 200ps and 300Nm, though they're quite pricey here in the Netherlands. I think they start from around 15k euros. BTW, if you consider ZC31S as a daily, take into account that it only has 5 gears, so not super comfortable if you drive faster than 110-120 km/h on highway. Otherwise seems like a very fun little car for the money it costs.
