You said the lions are there so humans learn to respect them, still the caregivers pulled their tails repeatedly :/ Animals that live in sanctuaries do not have interactions with the public, since it’s not consider educational to go pet them. There are reviews from people who mentioned that they saw the keepers use the sticks that they carry, on the lions physically - and I believe them. If they do that in front of paying customers I would hate to see what they get up to when the public aren't around. No idea about the alleged drugging but anything is possible. Since the lions are trained to ‘safely’ walk with tourists, they face a lifetime in captivity as they cannot be released into the wild. Also disagree about swimming with dolphins some operators in Mauritius advertise. Dolphins are wild and certainly they are being harassed more and more by boatloads of people on a daily basis.
