Fondant Oriental Bamboo Tutorial - Freehand, Fast & Easy!

Hey everyone! Here is a quick and easy way you can shape oriental bamboo (FREEHAND) without a mold! Literally all you need is fondant, a small ball tool, and some petal dust to shade.
There is no need to make them in segments before glueing them together, nor do you need to score then with a wire etc to create segments. This is the fastest, easiest way you will ever see. Just pinch and push!
I have used this technique countless times on my own cakes, and now I am happy to share it with you, in collaboration with Satin Ice.

Will this bamboo stay straight without adding a wire inside for a support?

Hello! The medium is fondant, so unless a skewer is added, it don't stand up straight on top of a cake. The one I demonstated is perfect for side of a cake :) if you need to add skewers, make sure you insert before pinching.
