The ppl who’s confused Furina is not an archon... she is a mortal human. Unlike Zhongli and Venti who are pretending to be mortal furina literally is a human from the very start pretending to be a god. The real focalors the god was inside the oratrice. Furina is just a mortal body she discarded that has its own consciousness and was given the task to role play as a god. The whole structure of the 7 archons has been destroyed by focalors at the end of act 5. Now its only the 6 archons and a dragon. The seat of the hydro archon in celestia has been destroyed and is no more. There will be no more current or future hydro archons. Its literally the whole plot of the fontaine story arc... how focalors plotted to destroy her throne and end the hydro archon line with her so that Neuvillette could regain his dragonhood.

Technically Furina used to be the Hydro Archon a long time ago. Furina and Focalors are one and the same. Or well they used to be. Focalors split herself (divinity) from Furina (humanity). A long time ago, Focalors used to have a divine part and a human part, since she too was one of Egeria’s creations. The human part is who we now know as Furina. After having been split Furina had her own personality and everything but her body was technically that of Focalors. In the meantime Focalors (the divine part) became a part of the Oratrice, leaving the physical body to Furina. However since Furina was the humanity of the Hydro Archon, she herself was a mere human with no power at all. We now know Focalors had cursed Furina to be immortal so she could fool Fontaine into thinking she is the Hydro Archon, however even with that curse Furina didn’t have the power of the Archon. Since those powers are linked to the divinity, but since divinity (Focalors) and humanity (Furina) got split, Furina was like any other human. She technically is part of the Hydro Archon however at the same time she isn’t the Hydro Archon. It’s a bit more complicated than just saying “Furina was never the Archon.”.

She was put in such an unfair position and she was so misunderstood, all of her people hated her for doing “nothing” when she spent 500 years researching and trying to listen to her people. Her name can literally be re-arranged into unfair (furina - unfair) this quest broke me. and the traveler and paimon are so annoying in this quest as well.

Yeah, everyone at first was all like "she's such a child" and hating on her. I was pretty neutral knowing she was going to get a redemption arc. And it's finally here!!! And now everyone is acting like they just loved her from the start. I hate how the ending was so incomplete feeling though... Childe just gets yeeted to Snezhnaya (I spelled it wrong yes yes I know), and his entire purpose was to just introduce Skirk. I expected Arlechino to do more.

Fun fact, in the scene where we see Furina's hat hit the ground is a reference to how a persons head would fall when they are guillotined, btw, the way Focalors tilts her head to show her neck just as the giant sword hits her is also to reference how a guillotines blade would fall on the unlucky individual, quite a dark little easter egg they added here.
