RUNNING LIST OF CORRECTIONS BASED ON 4.0 (SPOILERS FOR THOSE WORLD QUESTS IG) - the Director was just an oceanid, not former hydro archon, and was maybe named Lyris - the Vice Director was Basil Elton, formal Naval Commander - Narzissenkreuz Institute wasn't quite for superbabies - the Institute was a school for orphans and they HAPPENED to have two child geniuses who would grow up to be the two smartest people in Fontaine ever. - Jakob had inhuman strength because he was given abyssal power during the Sumeru trip. Still unsure why Rene and Jakob are more similar to the Gaokerena than Karl; maybe a pneumosia thing? But perhaps the structural issue is why the abyssal transformation worked on Jakob but not Carter

I'd say it's pretty easy to miss but there's some crazy Rene + Jakob lore there. (Also the one with Institute of natural philosophy [Alain] and Narzissenkreuz ones - obviously)

Yes!! I really love the nymph's dream set because it makes the yin-yang/daoist themes in genshin very present, which I feel like is an area of study really slept on by the genshin lore community even though it's a chinese game made by people who obviously really love xianxia/xuanhuan.

I guess all the loreists who are familiar with these philosophies write their theories in languages other than English and post on Eastern platforms, which stay largely off the radar for Western playerbase. And loreists whose content is made in English are mostly from the West and have little knowledge about Eastern stuff. It’s not even a matter of being “educated” or reading up a bit on Taoism etc. I’ve heard from CN speakers that yakshas titles and even most basic lore of Liyue are overflowing with Buddhism references and yet it completely flew over my head despite spending a few years of my childhood actively participating in a Western branch of Buddhist church (sorry if it’s not called “church” in EN, I’m not a native). One only gets those references if these philosophies are a part of their whole generational culture background

Can't believe I stumbled on such a great lore analysis after doing some internet sleuthing surrounding Sandrone. Everyone seems to think she has ties to Fontaine, but no one seems to have any theories why aside from the fact that she and her Ruin bot kinda dress like they are from there. I know believe that her strongest connection to Fontaine is through the Narzissenkreuz! But what about her possible connections with the Adventurers Guild via the Katheryn bots? Could there be parallels between the Narzissenkreuz and the Adventurers Guild? Maybe another previous member of the Narzissenkreuz founded the Adventurers Guild, and Sandrone helped by building the Katherynes? Either way I can't wait to find out more about this organization.

@roozevelt Please relate this *Heroes vs. Dragons* thing with the more generic trope of *Birds vs. Serpents...* as Sorush taught us all about the sacrifice of the mythical *Simurgh* (pretty much a *Homa Bird* ~with a Homa Staff,~ eh?!) as something _very_ heroic, indeed - even if the Dragons were in Teyvat way before said "Birds" came crashing down to claim the land to the humans... (like, it's kinda "easy" to place Abyssal stuff as coming from either *Hel,* *Niflheim* or just _Beyond,_ while "divine" stuff like the Nails and Seelie would be coming from *Asgard...* but then, why were there *Dragons* and whatever else on "Midgard"?! archons at least some of them are not humans but made of pure elemental energy, venti (he started his existence from wind sprite and was made from Anemo and is even childlike in appearance) is human-like so is Nahida. Zhongli inhabits the human body (who knows from where he got it, maybe some deal with Shneznaya) this is also a wild idea, but all inhabitants in Teyvat are maybe made of elemental energy, or information like holograms or virtual reality since nobody bleeds when killled but dissolves in some bluish energy that resembles energy that we see when farming in domains.
