I love this song and group. The song was released in 1978. I was 18 that year. I liked Punk rock but I didn't get into it on the way of going out to see groups play. I'm 65 this year , and sometimes i wish I had . I had a fear of people. In those days punk rockers were hated. There were violent classes amongst punks and disco goers. I liked the Scavengers too. Good fun groups.

I noticed the inhale sound in the chorus is pretty harsh on the throat while covering this song - probably the reason Grian doesn't do it himself during long sets Edit: if someone's interested.. I tried my hand on an acoustic version of Starburster (on my channel)

It’s all about placement of the breath for texture. I’ve been learning this song recently and I’ve found a way that’s not stressing on the voice, and I’m assuming Grian has as well. Him not doing it live is probably a artistic choice to bring the band in on vocals
