It’s a personal choice and if one decides to off themselves, then so be it. People give a lot of lip service about this but the truth is most of the time you are completely alone and life can be overwhelming. Death isn’t so bad and in cases such as what Robin Williams dealt with (Lewy body dementia), it may be a better solution. So sit on it you clueless clown, you obviously haven’t been there.

Rest assured, they do think that, Fonzie. They do. Anyone who says they hasn't is either lying or they just haven't been dealt that hard of a blow from life yet, which isn't necessarily bad, just not a lot to go on. I, for one, know what it's like. It's the kind of question you seem to ask yourself a lot, even when you're grown

@@debbiecopello1583 I'm also hardwired not to have any propensity toward suicidality, but that doesn't change the fact that a slight injury or other alteration to my physiology could change that in an instant, including the kinds of damage that are often done by trauma. There's no need, no purpose, and no excuse to be so arrogantly and cruelly dismissive of other people's experiences. Far, FAR more people have experienced despair than those who haven't. Your choice to take such a nasty, vicious, needlessly defensive tone suggests that you've got some pain you're failing to confront within yourself. I'm sorry for you and I hope you're on a better path now toward healing yourself instead of lashing out like that.

I'm 24, I have always watched Happy Days but somehow missed this part, I guess it didn't mean as much to me when I was younger. I just watched this episode again and had to come on here and save this clip. Just think, a show from the 70s has a message in an episode of it that can speak to generation after generation. I applaud Henry's work in this and I appreciate the fact that they discussed this topic. A beautiful beautiful way to spread suicide awareness. ❤️

Yes, sitcom writing being periodic was very difficult back then, unlike today when writers have the advantage of a fandom-created Wiki to check what an earlier episode said. But it's really easy to retcon this, because in truth adults who have been abused or abandoned as kids will misremember dates and events periodically. We could also say that his father left when he was three, came back for a short visit when he was 12 and then left again. So then he hasn't seen his father since he was 12 but he was abandoned when he was three.
