Daves line about potato water 'this during the war' gold 😂. Basically liquor, chopped parsley in the water (stock, in this case potato stock) from boiled spuds. Bubble and squeak is leftovers from a roast dinner on a Sunday and had for breakfast on a Monday. A roast dinner is roasted potatos, carrot and turnip, parsnips, cabbage, peas and a meat. With leftover veg, on Monday morning, mash veg together into a round one inch thick cake/patty and shallow fry...it's a London thing as is pie, mash and liqour with chili vinegar
