Today was a hot mess but I videoed it for you all to see! It was full of all kinds of issues and drama! Come along with me as I go to the food bank and pick up some awesome produce.

Make sure that the sunscreen is not expired. I never knew until a few years ago that it can go bad and not be effective any longer. I couldn't figure out why I was getting a sunburn even though I kept using sunscreen. I was so excited the other day! We still have an entire room upstairs that is not unpacked. We need to make storage for it first. I was looking for something and I also found a different product with SPF protection! It is age reverse day repair and it is a firming face cream with retinol, neo glucosamine, peptides and antioxidant. It was a total win win. I am 54 now and would like to help my skin as much as I can. You are so right protecting is skin is so important!

What a blessing! All that produce is amazing! I have never had fresh produce from our local pantry in town but the mobile pantry that is every other month does give out things like cutie oranges, potatoes, and apples. And last month we got a bunch of oyster mushrooms that I dehydrated. Those chilis are nice because they are great for anyone because you can always add you cant take away!

I did not think about freezing corn bread. I shall be doing that with a batch for sure. Corn mush for breakfast is my go to when I am hungry - fast and easy.

Yes, I either make the cornbread in muffin pans or iron skillet and cut it up. I freeze them so it is easy to take out just one or two pieces when you need them.

WOW! A lovely haul!!! That's GREAT!!! I too love butternut squash and zucchini. Mmmm Mmmm... Yes, I have had my onions get moldy both in the fridge and in the cupboard because of condensation. I lost a lot of them cause I didn't know.

Get charcoal starter. Squirt it on your charcoal and let it set a few minutes then light with a long match or long lighter. I have put paper under the charcoal too.

I’m sure someone has already advised you about lighting charcoal. I don’t know how to do it either, but I’d probably just google it. That’s my go-to for many, many things. 😄 I skipped our last food distribution. I was not feeling well at all. But there is another one this coming Saturday, so I’ll go to that one, hopefully. Ooooh - zucchini! I hope we get that, too, as well as the peppers. I absolutely love stuffed peppers. My mother used to make them often, using bell peppers, when I was growing up.

I love bell peppers stuffed as well. These peppers have a very tough skin on them so they need to be roasted and peeled before stuffing them. Ask me how I know? Yep, I stuffed them once and it was a a hot mess. LOL

Hi, I bought a product called ZIP which you light and it helps the charcoal to light up. They are white cubes you place in with the charcoal. Hope you can find it (I am in Quebec Canada)

We received celery so I chopped it and froze most of it. Wrapped the rest of it in tin foil to help stay fresh in fridge. Going to make celery broth from that and do creamed soup for cassorals.

This is dixie from texas, i have a receipe for you, on the apples, cut them up and take skin off if want . Put in bowl, put mayo in, however much you want, you have a apple salad so good, and you can put nuts in them.

Everyone beat me to it! Lol! You need charcoal lighter fluid and pne of those long lighters, you dont need alot of lighter fluid. Make sure the grill is away from your house! If its too close, it will melt your vinyl siding! Dont ask me how I know! My husband had our grill too close to the house and it melted the siding!! We had to replace it, its not cheap!! And you have to match it to what you have! They also sell charcoal that has the fluid already on it easy light or something like that is the name, it might be more expensive than the lain charcoal but its easier to light. Joline

Mash the bananas, they are not plantains, and freeze it. Later you can make banas muffins or banana bread. Chop and freeze your onions and peppers for soups, spaghetti, etc.

I always cut the layer I’m peeling off the cabbage from the stem end. It makes it much easier to get it off. I wish you had more counter space to work. I don’t know how you do it. I guess I’m messy. I need lots of space. I enjoy your video. I thought it was funny you forgot about the camera. Sounds like something I would do.😂

If you get match light charcoal and one of those long lighters it is easier that away you don't have to use any liquid lighter fluid it's dangerous if you don't know how 😊😊

LOL First, welcome in. Second, I have been doing that all my life and I am 62. You are not the first to point it out but it was something I used to get my student's attention in class before I was going to teach. It was their que to stop what they were doing and listen for instructions. I doubt I will ever get out of that habit.

Oh I see...about as far from us as it gets. So, may I say that in Vermont plastic grocery bags are verboten. It took a while, but people adjusted. We can bring our own reusable bags or purchase paper bags. I dearly wish every state would do it! Now them bags are a commodity.

@@justcallmesuzzie Kids in Washington were kind of naughty like that too. Now I work at a very small school that is pre-K through 12th grade. There are under 700 students total I believe. And for the most part they are all very respectful to their teachers!
