How long does your heavy cream/half and half you buy last before it goes bad, AFTER being opened? I notice you buy huge containers of it. It must last awhile. Your hair looks so cute up in the bun. I put mine up a lot too. I also love being in my house and being home. SO sorry about your car... I gave mine up when it died as it wouldn't pass inspection any longer. :(

I love salmon Patties. I use saltines. Back some odd years ago Momma and Daddy couldn't afford salmon so mackerel was used and it was just as good. 🙂

I perfectly understand your predicament with car troubles. I'm 74 yo & last Aug. 2023 my car died, it was 20 years old but had few miles & served me well. I just couldn't see at my age getting into a car note or buying a used car that may give me trouble. With basically anything you need that can be delivered plus my daughter brings me to doctor appointments, etc, it hasn't been bad once I got used to it. With our crazy world we live in now I'm kinda glad I don't have to go into stores,etc.

I had to smile at your green beans. I used to write restaurant reviews, and had one cook cry and her sons blasting me after I wrote her green beans were straight out of the can with no flavor and just lukewarm. Haven't really like green beans since.....

Yes ! Playing in the rain won’t hurt a thing … good memories ! I put about 1/2 “ of oil - so that way it makes a crunchy crust all over - that’s how my Mom always made them 😊

Hey there sweet Suzzie!! Yum! Cornbread and homemade bread too. The best! I need to make some myself. I have a list of things I need to do. Make Yogurt, make Mac& cheese (I have milk that needs to be used up) pickled red beet eggs, eventuallly choc chip cookies and pumpkin bars too. I had 5 qts of strawberries to wash and freeze, and some to eat fresh. Delish!! Oh, I store a lot of items in my oven too as I rarely ever use it! My mom's bread recipe used half milk and half water instead of all water as most recipes call for. The recipe came from an old recipe pamphlet from Fleischmanns maybe. I have all her old pamphlets and little recipe books, and recipes. I cherish the hand written ones.

Suzzie Love the bread. I use a bread machine so as not to heat the house in summer. Love it. Do you order Spices food from Chewy. My poodle is on a prescription food and I order from Chewy Very easy and good customer service. Hope the Dr visit goes well. I just went today for follow up. Have had breast cancer twice with three surgeries chemo and 70 radiation treatments. Like you I try not to let it get me down so I just keep going. Have a great day.

Good morning Suzzie! I am trying to get caught up on your videos today. Hubby had his appointment Monday with his podiatrist and they got him scheduled for surgery on June 21st. They get things done here at this VA fast. We heard it is suppose to be the best VA in the country! It is truly amazing because he just started seeing her a month ago! He was having issues with his toes after his total knee replacement! Apparently he has three hammer toes so they are going to fix them!

Suzzie google homemade fertilizers for tomatoes. You can save your egg shells wash dry and crush them. 1 tablespoon of Epson salt or baking soda. As for the bugs eating your plants you can use cayenne pepper and sprinkle around the base of the plant.

I'm working on my first cup of coffee right now. Spicy food makes my hubby sweat too! The tamales look delicious! I think that is most peoples reality these days Suzzie! The cost of living has gone up but our income has not. Are you able to get any assistance for food besides going to a food pantry?

It’s funny you mentioned making a “Thanksgiving meal”. The local taqueria here advertised a turkey (thanksgiving) dinner for sale this past Sunday. We took advantage of it and bought two plates, to-go. It was good. They always offer it on Sundays in the fall, but this is the first time they had it in summer! 😄. I’m with you on the cornbread. I prefer it non-sweet, too. I used to make yeast bread all the time when all of our kids were young and at home. We loved eating it. We were really strapped financially at the time and I’d buy a huge bag of flour and make 20 loaves at a time and sell them to earn money. It’s a wonder I didn’t have arm muscles like Popeye from kneeding all that dough all the time. That’s a really handy spray bottle of oil, you have! I didn’t know that was even a thing! Your cornbread looks so good! And so does your yeast bread!!!! 🩷

I do love when you cook!! I often make a basic bread dough and just add all kinds of seasonings to the dough to make an everything type bread it is wonderful with soups toasted doesn't even need butter!
