They cut my funding for my daughters disability in half this month with no warning, I have 14$ for food after bills and medications for her, I appreciate your videos I just went to the food bank and I felt awkward but everyone was so so nice the main guy running it even gave my daughter and myself some candies while we waited in line and now I’m gonna have enough to feed my family. Thanks 🙏

Here is my "mystery can" story: Our Kroger store has a clearance section of almost expired food, dented cans, overstock etc. Hubby finds a mystery can without a label and convinces the checkout lady to give it to us for free, He brings it home and we decide to incorporate the contents into our supper. So we open the can and ... it was canned dog food! We had to go to plan B for supper!

Free food is everywhere, I don't understand why a lot of people that cry hungry don't go get it. Some places will deliver to your doorstep, helped some of my neighbors find resources close to home, but it seems as if they always want me to take them or bring it to them. I believe in helping those that try to help themselves. They told me as a child, you can take the horse to the water, but you can't make him drink...........

If you put a little bit of rice in the salt it won't clump up like that, you can also use a piece of bread but I prefer rice, it would only take maybe a tsp for that big jar of it.. Thank you for sharing your haul! Many Blessings to you and your family! Stay safe! Elle ❤

The food I get from the food bank always inspires me to make new recipes. I recently made Walnut Milk with the walnuts & dates I received from the pantry. Walnut milk is expensive in the store. Its so good in coffee. And very healthy. I love that you made your own "rotel". Getting a bunch of free food also makes me feel so abundant.

the closed jar of artichoke hearts will usually be best between 3 to 5 jars when not opened...but because of them being marinated in oil and vinegar they could still be good for a long time after the expiration date

That would be good in some chilli beans and you can use in some canned beans sounds soooo good. Plus if you have some chicken cooked in your crock pot with this poured over it until it is done and it is soooo good. So many things you can do with the rotel you made!

I was drooling over those peaches. I put up peach chutney today and am planning a pork roast for Sunday which will complement the chutney (not the other way around.) I was thinking that the coleslaw mix would make outstanding spring rolls with some wrappers from the store. Handmade spring rolls have a very short life in my house. I make sweet-pickled jalapenos that are a big hit, especially when I make Bahn-Mi sandwiches. You can also make "egg roll in a bowl" with some of that coleslaw mix. I can sent the recipe if you want me to. Great job today!

Your food hauls look great and you make such good use of what you receive. Hate to see waste. Thinking about the 15 year old artichoke hearts. Used By Dates never existed before and can and pickles were made to last a long time. I'd open the jar and have a smell first. We have Kiwi berries here in Sydney Australia and you can use them no different to a Kiwi fruit. Just no hairs on the outside, give them to the kids for snacks.
