The street art around 2:22 is actually an almost exact copy of a Polish painting "Stańczyk" by Jan Matejko (1862). Great to see it in the middle of Paris, especially made so well. By adding 100 euro bills on the floor artist gave his mural a contemporary feel while keeping the essence and meaning of the painting itself. Very clever.

I knew I was right when thinking (like so many others) that this is the best thing you've done in ages. It's about Paris in depth, not a side glance as in so many of your videos., something we've longed for.

On my next trip I'm for sure getting a bespoke umbrella. I can't think of a better souvenir, rainy day got you down?pop open your Persian umbrella and scuttle along. Happy memories ensue. Again i am loving this series,it's Paris in bite sized pieces, easily digestible and intimate. Following along on my map, today's notes , " Harry Potter, Umbrellas , picnic in the Anne Frank park, independent shops"

Dixie Rose Lol!! It looks like (I’m still guessing here but this makes sense) that if he’s got 10 days of filming (5 days, two weeks for the 80 in 8) he’s going to do one quarter in each arrondissement 1-10 one month and 11-20 in the second month, then circle back to another quarter in 1-10 the third month, etc. There are four quarters per arrondissement (ergo, “quartiers”), times 20 arrondissements, so the math works, and Bob’s your uncle!

So this is going to sound odd as I've been watching your videos for a long time now, but I've never really been interested in Paris. I went there for a short time after a longer trip to Italy and didn't really connect with the city. But the more I watch your videos, the more I want to travel there. These 80 in 8 videos have clenched it. I love watching you exploring at a micro level and can't wait for a chance to do the same!

Love that you are visiting all 80 quarters. I have made it a routine to spend a month in Paris each winter when my business is slower and I can safely get away. It isn’t likely that will be happening in 2021 so thank you. My favorite activity in Paris is wandering and discovering. I am living vicariously through your quest for 80 in 8. I enjoyed the visit to the umbrella shop as I discovered courtesy of wandering last year.

Love Richard's encyclopaedic knowledge - he should have a side-hustle as a tour guide if he doesn't already. I noticed quite a few bespoke tailors in the 3ème last time I was there so that all fits (pun). The Ancre is also a river in Northern France - tributary of the Somme.

That mural appeared just after the lockdown ended, just a couple of months ago. I now often choose to walk down that street when I'm going to Partisan cafe, even if it takes me slightly out of the way, just to see it. It's a wonderful addition to the neighbourhood.
