This looks like an interesting place to visit. I was lucky enough to travel to Tokyo in February, and plan to go back to Japan early next year. Experiences like this will help to make that visit unique, I think. Thank you for the video.

Ise is AMAZING! Only wish we had a car and more time. Getting around using trains and taxi’s was a challenge. The main shrine is one of a kind..

@@MaShcode agreed! definitely one of my favourite places in Japan. But yeah, it is a bit of a pain to GET to the shrine area from the station.

I had just started working on a video food tour of my favorite local spot, and then purely by coincidence, I was offered the chance to join a GUIDED food tour! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this video. I do have plans for one or two more though...any suggestions on what to work on first? Classic Japanese street food? Beautiful and colorful sweets? Local beer and/or sake tasting?

I vote for sake tasting!

@@kylepimentel5316 Something I haven’t done much of yet, and I’m really interested in doing more of. Unlike beer, which is a relatively new thing here, sake has a long history and developed culture. Actually, I’ve just started working on something about local sake festivals. Lots of research to do… 🍶

Have things improved for vegetarians in Japan? When I was living there in 2001 there weren’t a lot of options and many dishes had dashi or fish flakes.
@Jordan-inJapan3 ай бұрын
@@GentleGiantJason it’s gotten a little better, but mostly because there are foreign tourists who keep applying pressure. The tour planners put a lot of thought into how to make it work here… considering (as you said) there are fish flakes and dashi in nearly everything. It took a bit of reinventing, but I thought the results were really good!
