The best food fight ever animated! I miss Monty. Do you remember in Volume 1 Pyrrha said that "all our weapons and tools are conduits for Aura"? They were putting their Aura into the food here to reinforce it!

The food fight scene was definitely epic! Also each character can imbue their aura into other objects such as food. That's why they were so hard, and Yang's puns are the best. I don't care what anyone says!

In volume 1, Ruby never truly saw Cinder’s face. She was hidden in shadows as she blocked Glynda’s attacks on the ship. Ruby might have thought she looked familiar, but it was such a quick moment that she most likely just assumed she had seen her around the city before if anything.

She was also pretty far away at the time... That said, as we might see later, Ruby does seem to have crazy distance vision lol... Hard to be sure if that would be an issue or not.

The food fight was for the specific purpose of answering "Who would win in a fight, RWBY or JNPR" in a way that wouldnt effect the plot of the show.

Yes and it also showed who individually is a better fighter. Ruby K.O.’d team JNPR by herself while her team all got K.O’d by JNPR. Even though Yang defeated pyrrah and ren in combat ability and but lost to Nora same wig Weiss losing to her and Blake beating pyrrah but pyrrah defeating words and Blake with her symblance meanwhile ruby lost in combat ability to them all but her symblance deafeating them all BUT only after her team losing putting her in a state of desperation. Sport I know I typed a lot lol😅

Fun fact, for the most part, all participants of the food fight were using foods that could mimic their weapons in some ways. Yang with turkey gauntlets she could launch, Nora with the soda grenades and melon hammer. Wiess with the sword fish and the ketchup for her sword and dust. Black using twin bread and the sausage links like her sword and hilt along with the ribbon. Pyrrah using the bread as a sword as well. And Ren using the leaks like his own twin pistols, which have daggers on them. So much fun figuring this all out.

Well, Ruby was the exception. There are really not easy ways to mimic either a scythe or a sniper rifle with food.

One of my favourite things about this show is that it has in universe explanations for everything. Aura strengthens their weapons which is why blades are equal to guns, also why their clothing never rip, and don’t need to have armour. Their names being colors isn’t just cool, but also has a cultural reason from their history. Speaking of color and why their outfits stay consistently the same, I think it has a reason too, I’m pretty sure it’s to inspire the civilians (produce positive emotions) and doesn’t really matter since grim track by emotion not sight. So hunters and huntresses dress in bright thematic colors. It all makes sense.

RWBY was partially inspired by Soulcalibur, which often has "joke weapons" where the person will be wielding a giant kabob or a leg of lamb instead of a sword or battle-axe. I think this food fight was a reference to that, complete with joke versions of the weapons.

Literally best food fight in history!!! Also the reason the food wasn’t breaking was basically answered back in volume 1. They can use their weapons as an extension of their auras. So the stronger the aura the stronger the integrity of the weapon.

Yang was up there long enough to hit terminal velocity actually x3 she fell through a different part of the roof if you notice and as stated before, Pyrrha mentions how their weapons are a conduit for their Aura, they can imbue them to strengthen them, the same is true for nearly any object they wield, including food that's why everything can stand to be used like it was (and why the bread breaks the minute it leaves their hands or is used too roughly)

Back in volume 1 Pyrrha said to Jaune that ''our weapons are inbued with out aura'' that's why anything can be a weapon in a hunter/huntress hands, a scythe, a hammer, they bare hands (Ren blocking the giant snake bite) and even regular food such as bread, celery or a watermelon, all depends on the fighter's ability to manipulate their own aura.

Very entertaining to watch and follow!! The upgrades in the show, from the backgrounds to fighting, was due to the great reception to volume one. Rooster Teeth built a whole separate team from its other shows for RWBY, hence the CRWBY!! And the Food Fight was its intro!! LoL The BEST FOOD FIGHT EVER ANIMATED...... PERIOD!!! (Okay..... - Mercury has guns built into his boots, which pairs well with his mostly kick based fighting style. He can shoot you as he's kicking you. Also, it's not an obvious weapon so can take opponents by surprise. - The food fight is a fan favourite for RWBY. 😄 - there are often little references to other Roosterteeth shows (like some of the posters team RWBY put up on their walls in Volume 1, or the X-Ray comic books). The 'like a puma?' line is a call back to Roosterteeth's first(?) show Red Vs Blue (made using the multiplayer Halo game maps) - When Cinder is walking over to Torchwick and co, you can hear a tinkling sound, that the anklet she wears that has a bunch of bits of glass on it (and a reference to her inspiration; Cinderella) - at the start, Yang was playing along with Nora. It was when Weiss got pie'd that things really heated up. And they were channelling their aura into the food, the same as they add it to their weapons (and clothes) to make them stronger and tougher. - You saw Emerald and Mercury in the after credits scene at the end of Vol 1, they were flanking Cinder in the shadows when she showed up at Roman's hideout. - In the Black trailer those were robots, not cyborgs. - As the saying goes, "Villains act, heroes react." The villains usually have the initative, the heroes have trouble stopping the villains when they don't know what the villains are planning. They have to wait until the badguys make a move before they can try to stop it.

In reguards to Emerald (green haired woman) you are correct. She was described as a "street rat", a thief, someone who was likely orphaned and had to fend for herself by pickpocketing things. This gives her a very good idea of the underbelly of any given city. And yes, she most definitely has an effect on her teams "information warfare", just maybe not in the way you imagine. :D You will get more of this in the World of Remnant videos, but each of the four kingdoms have VERY different cultures. Atlas is a frozen wasteland where many of the citizens (although not all) are very orderly and militaristic. Many Atlas graduates end up in the military as both troops and commanders. Also, I can't tell you when, or where, but Jesus, the theories are insane. Really love hearing your thought process, even when it is wrong.

Just saying, while I love the entire food fight the moment at 9:40 is my favorite because it shows that Remnant stills obeys the law of conservation of energy. For Ruby to stop that short when she was moving that fast, all the kinetic energy her body had in that moment had to go somewhere, so it passed through the floor into the wall.

Uh, if you guys want a board game like that... they basically based theirs off "Risk," which is a game about conquering territories on a world map. And yes, testy alliances, betrayals, and manipulation like Yang used are part and parcel to the game experience... RT also made their own RWBY board game called "Combat Ready," which is supposed to be pretty damn fun, but I don't remember if it's anything like this episode.

Easter Egg: The vending machines in the mess hall read "People Like Grapes", which is a random thing said by Gavin Free (of the Slo-Mo Guys on Rooster Teeth) during a recording of the Rooster Teeth podcast....it was just so apropos of nothing and random it cracked everyone up and they even made t-shirts with the phrase as a goof.

That game they played in the library had so much foreshadowing for future volumes and chapters 😅 Also keep in mind that the 4 top schools from the 4 kingdoms aren't high schools. They are actually considered colleges since the minimum age to make you eligible for application is 17. To skirt around some "issues", Monty made it sort of a college campus.

Cinder in episode one was up inside the helicopter and cover up by the dark, plus, mini explosions from the bullets that she was reflecting, so, Ruby couldn't see her face, neighter could us, remember??? Her face was revealed to us as public in the post-credit scene from season 1 finale, Ruby never have watched her so close.
