I’m the electrolytes person yay! Glad the info helped 😊 I’m a PCOS keto girlie, sometimes trending towards outright carnivore w dairy (usually in the winter) and sometimes going up to low carb because I will eat berries and local apples when they’re in season. I did do a “detox” from 100% of sugars and carbs in the beginning but now, I’ve had the occasional indulgence with no issues: birthday cake, booze sometimes, chips at a party. I keep an eye on my hunger cues and measuring tape to make sure I’m not going off the rails You’re right that different things work for different people but I do still think America is sleeping on seed oils and other ultra processed ingredients. Maybe bold of me to say but I think everyone no matter the diet can improve their health by avoiding that garbage. It’s been scientifically altered to mess w our hormones and hunger/satiety cues. Despite my overall diet I don’t think sugar is the devil but I try to limit it. There’s also a difference between sugar and high fructose corn syrup! If you want a sweet treat it’s better to bake your own cookies w real sugar or something, than getting a highly processed store bought snack that’s full of oils and HFCS I would challenge anyone struggling w weight to not eat anything ultra processed (ie full of seed oils, HFCS and ingredients you don’t recognize) for 90 days and see what happens

There's a reason ice cream sales in Alaska spike in the winter! And it's not just my dad buying it all. Even if it seems like it sometimes.😸

I used to think consistency at the gym meant like 2-3 days a week but no! Its more like 4-5. The gym plays a huge roll in your body and your body composition. Im eating mostly at maintenance, higher protein and mainly "clean" and been going to the gym every second day lifting weights and cardio too and my weight has stayed exactly the same BUT my whole body is changing! I can see my quads, my shoulders and arms are toning up. Never sleep on the gym becasue its more beneficial than people think.

I bulk out my meals with LOADS of vegetables so it feels like I am eating more.

Fibre plus Protein and healthy fat is super for satiety and overall health. Feeds the microbiome too which helps healthy bacteria proliferate and thus helps our brains signal us to eat more gut-friendly (immune-boosting) foods!

I started in June 2023 and I feel like I’m living in Groundhog Day. It’s not like my life before losing weight but super exciting but something about dieting makes day seem so similar. I’m happy with my new lifestyle but I kind of miss the drama of the chaos. From my understanding fat cells shrink instead of disappearing so if you go back to your old way of life the fat cells fill up again but the study I saw was on mice and was done in 2015.

I’ve found that after losing over 70 pounds, it’s hard to eat over maintenance. I accidentally lost two pounds under my minimum weight after going on vacation, and I find myself struggling to eat 200 calories over maintenance to gain it back. I will say though, for the seasons, I can’t help but feel like a lot of it is influenced by the individual. I started losing weight in December, and I found it incredibly easy until summer. I have bad summer seasonal depression and even after continually lowering my calories I found my weight stuck at the exact same place or going up a little bit for those threeish months. As soon as autumn rolled around it all dropped as normal again.

12:30 that would make me feel actually sick. Even when i was fat, I couldn't eat that much. Now because I'm eating healthier I feel fine and not really hungry Edit: I'll admit, I was never fat for a long term. Maybe 2.5 years? But I lost the weight naturally and with a fitness trainer that is/was (idk if being a yearly exam licensed nutritionist) a nutritionist. Helped so much and I genuinely enjoy working out. And I lost a lot more weight than I was 4 years ago

12:30 going to the gym can become fun. I've been through long stretches of it not being fun, going against my will for backpain. Now I'd wish i was ready for deadlifts again but I'm not. Wish i was at full power the next day.

I like your analogy about the car! I don’t remember you saying that before but its a great reminder for me. Im also the type of person who needs to switch things up so its good to remember to do that with weight loss as well

The fat cell thing is true I also learned that in nutrition class in collage. It's not made up. Nut i do agree everyone should look at how a study was performed and how statistics are Grapher. Data can be manipulated.

Come on Alex…you have to admit it’s easier to gain weight than lose it. One is enjoyable.
