I like to make a banana bread and cut into 5 big slices....then just vacuum seal each slice...put in the freezer ....and then bring one piece for breakfast

For breakfast I mix 1/2 C quick cooking old fashioned oats, 2TBSP powdered peanut butter (PB2), and one scoop of my favorite flavor of protein powder. I sprinkle that with cinnamon and put it in individual ziplock bags. At camp you just add 3/4 cup boiling water (I put this in a camp cup like the Toaks) and top it with dried fruit. That’s pretty much my camp breakfast every morning. It’s super hearty and very affordable since I always have those ingredients on hand.

O'n Day 1, we stop at a diner for breakfast,, and pack a sandwich for lunch. We have the usual trail mixes and energy bars for snacks. We share a soup or bean pouch or Ramen and then a Peak Refuel for dinner.

Sounds like a great way to do it.

Very useful. I see the US government suggests 2700 kcal for average man and 2200 kcal for average woman. But of course on the trail this could go up enormously - I suppose even double in extreme cold and extreme exercise. As you said, it's important to look at the labels - some foods simply don't have enough of dem Cals!

My calorie intake is definitely higher on the trail.

How long can you take sausage’s out on the trail before you shouldn’t eat them? I’m about to do my first two day, one night trip, and I didn’t know if they’d still be good for breakfast on the second day. It’d be about 16hrs.

I was expecting a discount code for Mystery Ranch. Going on my first backpacking trip in August so your videos have been extremely helpful. I am looking into investing in a Mystery Ranch pack for sure. Great work

@@BackpackingTV Ravine 50, Sphinx 60 or even the Terraframe 3 way zip 50 just because of the overload capability. I can't decide on which.

Yeah totally. This is a great way to do it because you can carry fresh ingredients pretty easily for a day.

Also be careful when I over exert myself I'm not hungry and have to force the food into me you still need to eat
