Food Rally #1 - Monterey to San Diego

What turned out as a Food rally starting in South OC to SD quickly changed when Chris @zer030ne flew me out to San Jose where Quan @thequanandonly picked me up on his way down from Sacramento. With a quick steak dinner at Chris' spot, we woke up before the sunrise and headed down the 1 going through Big Sur.
We had an unbelievable morning watching the sun come up along the coast line. Big Sur is beautiful any time of year and I recommend everyone take this route at least once in their life time. I have done it twice. The biggest downside is that it takes 9-10 hours taking this route through Santa Barbara as there is tons of traffic if you do not pass SB by 3pm, especially on a Friday like we were. It was a long but brutal drive towards the end but we mashed through it and got started early the next morning at San Juan Capistrano.
Ortega Hwy was damp from a morning drizzle but it was a gorgeous morning none the less. As we headed down to Mira Mesa taking the 15 fwy, we were met up with the rest of the SD crew and had lunch at Menya Ultra, which is an amazing Japanese Ramen House. From there we headed to Mt Soledad and eventually rode the rest of the coast down to Coronado and then to Tacos y Gordo.
