We used to eat in copper plates, drink tulsi water from copper glass, because it is the most hygienic and affordable metal to drink water from which quenches our thirst and the properties of copper also enter our body, but today in search of western tradition we are so lost, that we think drinking from glass is the elite standard , dancing or just twisting your waist on kpop rather than performing fine cultural Bharatnatyam is art.No wonder we were enslaved for 1000 years - 800 under Mughal and 200 under British. Oh wait we are still mentally enslaved 😂

Clearly , you have no military background . Officers are supposed to eat rice and sabji or curry with fork and spoon , but they can use hands to eat roti and dal or roti and sabji . Officers have been taught how to eat various dishes . Like for instance they have been taught how to eat aloo paratha with their hands or eat dosa with their hands . They have to use hands for roti , dosa , paratha , poori , lacha paratha etc.. Please don't disrespect the military . If you don't know about the traditions , please ask any officer kid at your school explain.

During one of my AFSBs in Varanasi when we (candidates) entered the mess, there was such pin drop silence despite the food being served and plates being picked up that when one of the candidates mistakenly dropped her spoon it echoed in the entire room with everyone looking at her. I was awed by the silence and impressed by the discipline.

This is not an attitude, but a necessity. Imagine, Army, Navy, Airforce personell eating like a normal Citizen, using hands. There hand wil surely pick oil or stains of curry while eating without cutlery. Suddenly a distress announcement on Loudspeaker , Now they have to run to take their positions and They have very few seconds to fire . It will not be right to fight with oily hands. Their performance can be effected negatively . Thus to avoid such a situation use proper cutlery while taking meals
