This video presents food security as defined by 1996 World Food Summit. Food security is achieved when sufficient quantities of safe and nutritious foods are available, and all populations have regular adequate access to foods on a consistent basis for healthy and active life. Food security has five dimensions: availability, accessibility, safety and nutritional value with desired sensory, and we need to secure regularity in a consistent way (i.e. all time). Regularity is also termed as stability of food security. Food insecurity could be chronic, i.e. long term or transitory, i.e. short term. All these dimensions are discussed in this video.
