We had an apartment once where the light switch for the bathroom was on the wall outside the bathroom door and we all would just randomly turn the light off on each other. Also, those switches are for an outlet in the room, I have one in my house. Just one, in the entire house. No idea why. It isn't even like, in a bedroom, where maybe it was installed so that you don't have to get up to turn off the lights. Nope, just by the front door, for a random outlet.
