At least the children look healthy and happy. The parents are able to provide for them. The war is not near their Carpathian Mountains, and the husband is not conscripted to serve in the military. The wife is hard working, knowing what she needs to do, and certainly seems to be with inner strength and determination to care for her family in such a harsh environment. Kudos to them all.

This is a portrait of a loving and industrious family. The mother is healthy and hardworking, but a gentle and caring voice as she acknowledges her children. I was glad to see parents, a productive team, passing beneficial characteristics on to their children. Healthy food, farm work, and clean country air, provide basic needs for a growing family. Thank you for your video. My grandparents were born near Kherson in the Ukraine in 1901. They came to Canada in 1911. I don’t know much about their life in Ukraine because they both passed away when I was quite young. I imagine that their life must have been difficult like this, both in Ukraine and in Canada when they came over (no mountains in Saskatchewan where they lived, but wide open prairie and cold, snowy winters).
