Life in these remote mountains is beautiful, yet also harsh. The area is home to a large number of wolves and bears, so the family must take precautions. They ensure that the sheep, especially the smaller ones, don’t slip through the fences by fitting them with special wooden collars. To prevent the cows from wandering into the forest, where wild animals could attack them, they are kept on a chain.

There are also many bears in Slovakia, they are overpopulated. And the stupid Slovak government does nothing about it. Bears have already fatally injured several people.

The other food batch you are drying, is it chestnusts? I liked seeing your daughter with the baby cow, both enjoying each others company, & the children playing & enjoying good home made food.
