Her behavior reminds me of my brother only with him it was booze. He still had a job, but he was frantic about getting his fix-until he nearly left this earth in front of me (after the wife kicked him out). After EMS took him away, I found small bottles he had hidden in the garage, basement and in the back of my file cabinet. This despite me checking the house as best I could when he left or went to bed. I had just had ankle surgery, so he put it in places that were hard for me to reach. I fear Chantal is getting close to where my brother was. He survived- just. I don't think she'll be as lucky.

A very good point. My father worked with a man who died because of a diabetic emergency while driving last year… There’s a reason that truck drivers can have their CDL rescinded, or not be granted one in the first place, if the required yearly medical assessment finds that their diabetes isn’t under control. ETA: at least in the USA where I am. Should’ve been more clear about that as I don’t know what the requirements are in other countries.
