Foodie February | A Food Filled Readathon!!

As an avid gardener (with a big fruit orchard) who loves baking and cooking, I'll definitely be reading along with Foodie February! I've always loved food writing and cookbooks, so I have quite a collection, but there's always room for more, of course. 😁 I recently borrowed *The Book of Difficult Fruit* from the library, and I'm really enjoying it so far. Right up my alley. 😊 (I love to grow unusual fruits, like my Medlar and Quince trees!) I'm going to have fun choosing another book or two to read for this readathon as well. Thanks for the great ideas!

Oh, an orchard - how lovely!! My dream is to slowly expand on this land, year by year. So delighted you are joining us!! I cannot wait to hear what you pick up. Love it! I recently found your channel and am so glad I did because your reading style is quite close to mine and I've really enjoyed your videos! I'd like to recommend Praisesong for the Kitchen Ghosts by Crystal Wilkinson. I read it in one sitting and then baked the Milk Cake at 2AM. It is about family, memory, farming, mental illness, grief, and the shadow of enslavement. You will laugh and cry and think about this book for days and weeks after you've finished it (or at least I have).

How fun! Count me in for at least one book. I will be reading "The Tea Lords" by Hella S. Haasse. It's been sitting on my shelves, just waiting for your Foodie Febrary. Hope it's okay if I start early as our daughter and family are arriving the 24th.

Oh this is such a fun idea!! I'm not sure if I can fit any in, because my feb tbr is already overly ambitious.. I have The book of difficult fruit on my tbr as an option, so I might squeeze that in somewhere. One of my favourite foodie books is MAstering the art of soviet cooking by Anya von Bremzen, highly recommend that one!

I just commented on Sophie's post as I didn't see that you'd both done one and it popped up on my newsfeed! I love love love food writing, so I can't wait to get some recommendations. Initial thoughts on my tbr - kitchens of the great Midwest for spicy, act your age Eve Brown for sweet, crying in H mart (savoury?), with the fire on high, gut... Going to go and look at my shelves! x
