Around 50 years ago, Mrs. Lucy D'Souza began a tiny mess to cater homestyle meaty meals to a handful of customers in the coffee town of Mudigere, Karnataka. The reputation of her homely fare comprising mutton, fish and pork delicacies prepared to an interesting confluence of Mangalorean, Kodava and Mudigere culinary influences, grew over the years making Eddies Mess a mandatory lunch stop for meat lovers in the know, locals and travellers alike, Today this mess is tended to by her son Eddie and his wife, Lavin D’Souza. If you love your non-vegetarian oota, this place is a definite must-visit when in the area.

It’s Mai hotel before I guess. Now it’s in new place before it was opposite side in small home. According my memories it’s more than 50 years old. My dad used to order food from there. Mai means mother in Konkani now it becomes Eddie hotel. But taste remains same from years.

Ok the name of the eatery is unrevealed - Eddie’s mess .The owner is very sweet & humble 👌 His wife Mrs Lavin D’Souzq is ever smiling. Her laughter is genuine & infectious 👌👌 Time for our favourite kitchen tour - Very homely style kitchen 👍 I don’t think I have seen a Citron Lime or know its uses .After 3.30 pm it’s Susegad period for the wonderful couple 😀 Oh this is a vlog that you shot in December’23 . Sorry but why did it take you close to two months to post the vlog ? Anyways seems to be a unique vlog . The ambience is quite calm & cool 👌 Ha ha - Yes it’s indeed a bounty of delicious meaty fare 😋😋 The Kandai fish is called as Barracuda . The fried version with the apt seasoning helps one to taste the true flavour of the Kandai fish. Rice with fish curry is a wonderful combo ? The Mackarel is a strong flavoured fish and I completely agree with your candid feedback. Wow the Pork dry masala brought a real happiness on your face 👍😀 Time for the mutton chops curry with rice . Looks like the subtle flavours of masala coupled with Mrs Lavin’s masala recipe did the trick 👌👌 Every dish that you tasted seems to be a perfect hit for you and their regular patrons . This was such a sweet & wonderful vlog , I truly don’t know when it started and ended as I was so immersed in the vlog . This is also a place on my list .
