I discovered Janatha Lunch Home quite by chance on this Mangalore visit, thanks to the buzz around its seafood thali that comes loaded with a smorgasbord of dishes for all of Rs. 350 only. Usually, I am quite the skeptic when it comes to offerings that are marketed on price, but having tasted this hefty plate that included anjal fry, squid uppumunchi, prawn pulimunchi, bolenjir rava fry, fish curry, marvai sukka amongst its offerings, I must say it does provide tasty seafood sustenance especially if one is on a budget.

Wow seafood is relatively cheap in Mangalore , compared to Bangalore ….in Bangalore , it costs a bomb for some reason …I’m only referring to seafood, not farmed fish and shrimp which is available in plenty in Bangalore

Kurla is a place in Mumbai Kudla is name of Mangalore in Tulu.... similarly Malayalis call it as Mangalapuram ....and in konkani it is Kodiyal❤

I love sea food last 35 years I love almost all kind of sea food I tries even White Shark, Alaskan Salmon, , cavier eggs, snails, octopus, squids, claims, also many more fishes etc, but now in my 60 es no fried or deep fried or red spicy chilli alt all Baked, Roast or saute little garlic black pepper, green chilli lemon or very very lite sauce only enjoy good Restaurant.
