Now that's what a modern yatai should be like! As much as I love them in general I always felt that with the old ones having to lug the multiple 100 kg heavy carts around can't be good in the long run.

Very nice clip! We used to live for years just behind the Family Mart which is shown at 7:40, but that was before you came there. There were a few yatais already there on Showa Dori, but most of the time we went down by the canal where some guys made amazing big shells and seafood. Your seared mentaiko looks very good good, also the deep fried one. Learned all about mentaiko in Fukuoka :-)) A tip to people who might do a sashimi bowl at home or in a hotel room, ask for broken mentaiko, it is a third of the price. Mentatiko is a popular gift and it should not be broken, but what does it matter if one is going to eat it half an hour later and break it?
