This song help me immensely. I was struck down a year this week . Paralysed unable to breathe without life support, had to learn how to breathe unaided, talk again, walk again , eat again. Guillain Barre Syndrome. I have since recovered about 95%. When your in agony painful nerve endings and massive muscle wastage and you have this playing when you are pushing through the pain barrier doing physio in a rehab hospital the words are so motivational. I never wanna die I was running through the fire, dancing on my grave and learning to walk and talk again . Thanks Dave you fuckin helped me man.

Love that this song helped you! I can honestly say that i have yet to hear Foo Fighters song that wasnt awesome. I could never say that about Nirvana tho. Its a shame that their best asset was constantly overlooked and in the back/behind the scenes, and its really shitty that it took Kurt Cobain to die for him to make his way. Btw, Have u seen the movie this music video is copying? Its great! Stars Michael Douglas and its called *Falling Down* That movie will put shit into perspective.
@chymist665 жыл бұрын
jessica beverley thanks for the reply. Yeah it’s always the way with a front man in a band that’s idolised like Kurt was. People wrongly assume the success is all down to the charismatic front man when actually it’s a team effort. Dave is special he’s developed something unique, the punchy tunes and his style of guitar playing are all strongly influenced by his drumming, and he was and still is a talented drummer. But Dave will agree it’s not all his doing , while he runs the show he has a lot of talented guys with him to make the Foo Fighters who they are. His drive and never give up attitude inspire me, like when he broke his leg and the band played on. Yes btw I have seen falling down twice. Michael Douglas is certainly having a bad day. Ha ha

Attending my first concert at Bamboozle in 2012 was a transformative experience, and Dave's words have stuck with me ever since. When he declared, "you don't need all these fancy lights and equipment, you can do this too, anyone can do this," it was like a revelation that transcended the performance itself. Dave's message was empowering, breaking down the barriers between the stage and the audience, inspiring a belief that creativity and passion are within everyone's reach. That moment became a catalyst for change in my life, sparking a newfound motivation to pursue my own artistic endeavors. The idea that anyone can create something meaningful, regardless of resources or background, is a powerful and liberating concept. Dave's words continue to resonate with me, serving as a constant reminder that the journey of self-expression is open to all, and that sometimes, all it takes is the courage to embrace one's creativity. The Bamboozle concert of 2012, with its memorable message, will forever be etched in my mind as a turning point and a source of inspiration.

Learning to talk again Can't you see I've waited long enough? Where do I begin? Do you remember the days We built these paper mountains Then sat and watched them burn? i lost my gf of almost 5 years. the best most intelligent, self motivated, adventurous, beautiful woman. all because i was too weak and had certain negative people enabling this downward spiral and helping keep my mind captive through excessive use of marijuana. she is happier without me, quickly found another man that is giving her more in a week than i could in months. everything that i was throughout those years wasn't me but i let myself become that. now i am learning to walk again, while also fighting the feeling of wanting to fall and give up. i may never get her back but i'll never be that person again. i hope she lives her life to the fullest, and i will start mine again and do it right this time. please, to everyone that reads this, do not give up when you fall. it took me being completely alone to realize what was truly important to me and it may even take that for you too. i can't tell you to heed this advice but i hope you all see the best in life.

In 2001 I was diagnosed with leukemia. Had a stem cell transplant(think bone marrow) from my sister in 2002. Without going into all the details I'll just say I ended up in a wheelchair with nerve damage in my feet and left hand. I still to this day cannot feel much below the ankle or move my feet. I have special orthotics that help me walk but I literally had to learn how to walk again and it was YEARS of physical therapy to get me there. My balance isn't great but I CAN walk again. I also used to tell people that I was too stubborn to die. This song came out in 2011 years after all of these happened to me and I know this isn't the case but it literally feels like these guys took my story and made a song about. I've heard this song hundreds of times but I still get chills every single time I hear Dave sing I'm never gonna die.

I’m so happy you’re here to tell your story. Let me tell you how similar our stories are. My little brother had a stem cell transplant at 43, diagnosed with Plasma Cell leukemia. Also, with Multiple myeloma. His spine was/is pretty much destroyed. He can walk, but it was HARD to come back. This song, I played daily as I left the hospital. I flew from Tennessee to California to be with him. For 3 months….. He’s still here too. Not only will I think of him, I will think of you every time this song plays. I hope you do well and have a beautiful life from here on out.

It's 50 - 70 % willpower , of course depending on the place in the brain things can take longer. But the brain is capable of so many amazing things... Don't let anyone say : " YOU WILL NEVER COME NEAR TO XYZ..!" I know it's different in children ,but a child aged ~6 had a hemisphereectomy because of an autoimmune disorder destroying her brain. Symptoms like regressing to a toddler and up to 70 seizures a day ( which destroy brain cells every time in her severity) So they could either do nothing until she was blind, deaf, in a vegetative state OR REMOVE THE SICK HALF OF HER BRAIN BEFORE IT SPREAD TO THE OTHER HALF. She was young enough for her HALF brain to take over the tasks the renoved half was in charge. Of course it works the younger the better , but even adults can make new pathways. It only takes longer and of course hard work and a team that knows how frustrating it is sooo often when you don't see progress and loose hope. The best ones give you a hug and then challange you to proove them wrong ,that that might be your limit - with a 😈😏.

RIP Taylor. You were amazing, and an integral part to the Foos. You will be really missed.

I always come back to this song whenever I have a shitty day or shift at work, feel lost in life, feeling hopeless or that my lifedream is just a dream. It makes me feel like everything is gonna be just fine. This song will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you Dave Grohl, thank you Foo Fighters.

I think he's half joking there, lol. Coldplay's early stuff is good. Yellow, Clocks, In My Place... all good songs. Then America got hold of them. Pish.

Recently, I learned about Foo Fighters through a game called Rocksmith, and I really like them. I regret that I should have known sooner.

I can relate. I always knew about them but was too wrapped up in other music to really follow them until a little over a year ago. now I pretty much can't listen to anything else.

Dear sir. My wife and I saw you in GR Michigan in 2023. It was a great show. We have a 17 year old special needs daughter who is very challenged mentally. She will live under supervision all her life❤. Anyway, one night as she cuddled with me and my wife at bed time, I played this song to relive the memory of the concert we saw. She said, “Dad, play the boy again. I like this.” So, in her world, your the boy who plays a song that she like to hear at bedtime. I can’t help but think of the irony of the song and my daughter 🤷♂️. Thanks
