I think I appreciate music from 95-97 the most because it was the end of adolescence. I was just a 13 year old kid in 95. I felt like I had my whole life ahead of me, but I couldn't care less about tomorrow. This was before the weed, drinking and sex. High school was great, but there was way more pressure trying to fit in and act mature. I'm 40 years old now, with my own kids, but this music brings me back to yesterday. I guess I always thought that there would be a point when I didn't feel like a kid anymore... that point never came.

😭 So true!! I was 14-ish when this came out….I’m now 42 and I can relate to your comment entirely. It’s like that line in that one Pink Floyd song about “…..you missed the starting gun….” As a young Gen X’er I have often felt like something passed me by but I never noticed it happening. The only thing that happened was life itself….it’s really hard to explain I guess. Life happens quick and next thing ya know you’ve got kids saying you’re “old” even when you don’t feel in your mind that you are…..then, you’re gone….and those kids will find themselves in the same boat. Old, forgotten then gone themselves. Such a strange cycle.

@GardensAndGames4 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelHopcroft I think the demo of the self titled first album was all done after Kurt died. The story with William Goldsmith (the drummer in the video) is kinda complicated. The drums we're hearing were played by Grohl, but Goldsmith was the live drummer for the band. When they went in to record The Color And The Shape Goldsmith laid down the drums, but Grohl later re-recorded almost everything himself. This bothered Goldsmith so much he quit. But then we got Taylor, so all's well that ends well.

I like Foos, but I had never listened this song until earlier today, when I decided to start the discography from the beginning. I'm terrified how good this song is, how it seems influenced by Nirvana and mostly how strong the lyrics is, specially knowing that recently Grohl confirmed it is about Courtney Love. It is pure gold produced by Dave playing all the instruments. I cannot stop to listen this song repeatedly and to consume everything related to it on Internet.

I love the self titled album by foofighters, Just bought the CD... My favorite story of this album is that dave played all the instruments himself and made it in just 6 days, it's crazy how he can make so many good songs in that amount of time, Dave has to be my favorite artist out there. PS. I love his attitude aswell such an awsome guy!

Nearly 25 years... they didn’t lie when they said they would stick around.

Man this guy made his music personal by literally playing every instrument from his soul. He could have just stopped preforming but he had enough motivation to keep himself alive. This goes for everyone who’s struggling in life to get somewhere where they don’t see themselves being. Push yourself to do what your heart tells you. Don’t listen to the negative thoughts that your mind tells you how you should feel. Feelings come from your inner spirit and heart. Your mind will play tricks on you but believe me you all have a soul and purpose to live and be naturally gifted in something to your absolute fullest. Musically inclined or whatever your talent may carry you. It’s better than carrying the weight of your sins on your shoulders. That’s a weight that slows you down. Nuff said ❤🙏😘

Greetings from germany. Literally after decades I dug out the "1st Foo Fighters" album again. This song is an absolute blast. A heavy smasher. A total headbanger. A brutal slamdiver. Greater than great. The 1st album is definitely under their Top-5-albums! Sadly i never saw the "Foo Fighters" live on stage although they had come several times to germany over the years. Greetings from autumn 2024.
