Definitely entertaining and addictive, but oh boy there are so many plot holes, implausible situations and contrivances that don't really make sense. However, if you're the type of the person that can ignore those things and just enjoy a pretty entertaining murder mystery with likeable characters, then this isn't a bad use of your time.

I didn’t like all of Mayas outbursts. How she angrily drove to Judith’s house, acted belligerent and then later willing left her daughter there like nothing had happened between them. Didn’t make sense to me that she would leave Lilly there

Ending would’ve been better with Eddie and Shane being the 2 bikers that killed Joe. Eddie would get the revenge for his wife being murdered and Shane would get to be with Maya in the end like he wanted. Would also explain why Shane put a tracker on Mayas car, and why Shane was tipped off by Eddie (who didn’t know where she was going) yet ended up right where she was during the kidnapping of the babysitter. Also wtf is with the babysitter? Plant a video yet freak out when she’s confronted and delete it right away?

If you watched this purely as escapist fantasy, switched off your ability to think things through, and maybe squinted a bit I think you'll love this 'murder mystery'. I have no issues with the acting...but there were more holes in the plot than a Swiss cheese. Bizarrely it still had me watching until the end - just out of curiosity.

Yes, the initial plot holes really bothered me. Then once I turned off all logic, the ending was gratifying lol

I really enjoyed it BUT the background music was so annoying. I had my hand on the remote control the whole time. We don't need suspenseful music blaring out when they are searching for someone at night, in a park! We arent that stupid to know something is going to happen. I did lose the plot a bit in the middle as so many characters were involved and I had no idea why! I liked the two detectives that paired up, they should have a show of their own!

So the step brother aspect was completely worthless? Why did the nanny and her boyfriend not burn that shirt immediately? They got it dry cleaned!!!!???? And so many times the characters did something by themselves that they should have had a partner be with them!!!!! Lets just start walking through catacombs by ourself!

The timeline makes no sense to me. There has to be enough time between Maya not following orders and killing civilians, The Whistle getting the recording and releasing it, then forming a relationship with Claire for her to investigate the Burkett company, to then raise suspicion with Joe for him to kill her, all whilst Maya is supposed to still be employed as she was away when Claire died, but the video got her fired ... Makes no sense! Also the Burketts knew about the nanny cam photo frame to deepfake Joe but not enough to see one appear on their mantle piece? So many things didn't make sense in this show!

@@AlmogYosef520Yes maya planted it there it wasn’t there the entire time maya even points to it when she was dying and Judith didn’t notice it right away. It wasn’t until Judith looked at mayas face again and she is looking in that direction still and Judith looks again and then that’s when she notices it.

The soldiers yelling to stop the car was annoying, they didn’t know who was in it. And maya being a trained soldier and giving in because someone is telling her to do something with out proper info.

Was a drag for me to get through. The only fleshed out character was the detective. He made me watch till the end. When Maya was riding around l8je a lunatuc I wanted to skip so badly. Most of the cast was pretty flat & one dimensional & their acting was poor. We spend too little time with the Burketts but they were the big bad.

The first 6 episodes were quite good. Although felt like there were lots of unnecessary twists that didn't quite add up and were put in for the sake of it. Some of the final twists single handedly weakened the existing characters and plot lines. They weren't plausible and made the main character feel disingenuous. It just didn't ring true and felt overcomplicated and mostly unnecessary. Things were left unexplained and some of the characters were given storylines that didn't add anything to the main plot line. The acting was good and there was a sense of mystery throughout. However, once wrapped up, you feel a little bit exhausted and can't help wonder what on earth just happened and question whether you wasted your time. Overall, worth a watch, but not as good as it could have been.

On the whole a good plot but got a little sick of seeing lead actress Michelle Keegan dramatically driving up and down in the blue car making dramatic brake stops and pulling anxious look face. Too much car footage for me. Story plot taking idea from the story about pharmaceutical companies that hiding bad product etc... I watched until end and liked the end. I feel MK was hit and miss regard acting but I think she did better than most of the others. I hope to see her in other roles because I do like her.

A plot hole you missed was that the show never really explained the allegation that the family was sending money to the police officer. He denied it to Maya and showed his bank records to her, but it was never explained why that rumor was started in the first place.

It was, the mother was feeding wrong information to her daughter, who gave that info to Maya

That explains how the rumor got started, but my question is why did it get started? What was the point of trying to convince Maya that the cop was on their payroll? They had to know he would deny it and could easily disprove it, and I just don't see how it helped them at all. The mother's clear goal was to prove that Maya killed Joe, which means her best strategy was to hope the cop would do his job properly and investigate Joe's death. Saddling him with a false rumor that he had taken a bribe would only distract the cop and make him less effective in doing his job. Also, it really stretches credulity that the cop - who had been shown as a stickler for rules, especially in his early dealings with his partner - would arrest Maya for Joe's murder and then allow her to freely enter the mother's house with a loaded weapon. I could possibly see him allowing her to enter the house to try to get them to confess their crimes on camera, but he would never in a million years allow her to go in with a loaded weapon. The first thing he would have done when he arrested her would be to disarm her. That is the most basic standard protocol that even a rookie cop would know. That's my problem with the show. It had all these plot contrivances that made no sense and really distracted from enjoying the series.

This show was so overly dramatic. Borderline Bollywood level. They must have played a dramatic noise at the end of every sentence. Ending was a bit disappointing and a bit stupid compared to the jaw dropping endings of other shows by this director. And there were so many irrelevant characters it was insane. Didn’t understand the point of this Louis character and his dad in the slightest they didn’t contribute towards the story at all among others

how did judith know about the nanny cam? did Mayas friend work for her too? what was the point of her friends ex stalking her through it or the hacking scenario? why did joe wait all these years to kill Tommy Dark? also supposedly the information claire had was very damaging and she had proof thats why she got killed so why didnt maya just tell the police about it? it looked like it was too much for them to cover up even with the best lawyers in the world. why did judith let maya talk to christian swain?

Watching it through to the end, it was very underwhelming and left so many plotholes. 5/10 - If the whole time it was Maya and Joe were the killers, why was Maya running around solving something she already knew ? - What was with Shane and the random stalking? - what happened to Joes death certificate in the abandoned will reading? - what was the point of the half-brother story? - How did the nanny know about the nannycam from Mayas friend? - 18 years later and Shane or Sami haven't aged?

Maya - she wanted to know the reason why Joe killed Claire. Shane - he was getting annoyed at her for not telling him things and ended up watching her to see what he was a part of, also setting the car alarm may have been caused by placing the tracker. death certificate - that was never explained and just a stupid plot hole to think Joe was still alive. half brother - to add intrigue to Claire leading a double life nanny - Maya's friend had several cams and it was said that the Burketts set the whole thing up, so her friend was possibly set up as well. shane & sami ageing - yes they looked like fake beards, it was badly done. Further questions. - who was the dark figure standing outside Mayas house that we never saw. - if Maya knew Joe was the killer why was she crying by herself at Joe's funeral in the bathroom. - how did the nanny get the sd card? she was a metre behind maya when getting the water and then ran into the lounge and then out the door. - why did nobody question the burketts (a huge corporation) sponsoring some low level soccer club. - why didn't the motorbike rider send an anonymous tip to the cops that maya was the murderer. - why do people make it so easy for others to access their facebook pages 😄

For me, “Fool Me Once” was not a cohesive film. Instead, I found it to be an assemblage of several loosely related stories that each could have been developed into a stand alone film. None of the individual characters truly engaged me. I kept watching thinking that any moment, now, something interesting is going to happen.

according to his phone Sami was blacked out for an hour and half and he was behind a shed why would anyone see him there? and yes they were public spaces but why would anyone pay attention to him? in an empty restaurant or outside on a bench

I liked it, but the various issues with the plotting kept it from being something great like "The Fall". They either lacked a real script editor, or the script editor was brand new to the job.

It's a shame because I was looking forward to seeing Joanna Lumley and Michelle Keegan, but I stopped watching after the 2nd episode due to it being disjointed and too much going on, characters turning up without knowing who they were. The whole storyline could have been done so much better.

I had high expections for this series, having enjoyed the stranger, into the woods, and other Coben series. The first few episodes are very catchy but ultimately the plot doesn't hold. The detective becomes ridiculous with his pills and we never find out why he is taking them to begin with or why he gets money from the rich family. Shane appears suspicious occasionally but it's a red herring without explanation again. So many of the subplots are unnecessary. I feel nostalgic for a good Agatha Christie.

The detective never received money from the rich family - this was a lie told to Michelle Keegan by the sister. He was taking the pills but they made him worse. I think Shane was suspicious of Michelle K or obsessed with her - hence his behaviour.

He was not getting money. It was a lie the Burketts told Maya so she would think he was corrupt. It is explained during the confession. Shane was a too obvious red herring & I hated the acting.

Not bad, first half of the series I was sat pointing out ‘that would never happen like that’. Wound my neck in eventually and just watched it. Obvious in the first episode who killed him… lots of side stories to fill in the time. I’ve watched worse, I’ve watched better… easy viewing

A tangled web. Definitely keeps you engrossed. The one thing that I noticed was military police Shane Tessier has a lot of longer-than-5-o'clock beard stubble. Military are not allowed to have beard stubble here in the USA. I don't know about other countries, though. I just thought it was weird and possibly not something that was researched to make things more believable.

That's the easiest thing to understand..she stuck into there house at the end the cam wasn't there for long she put it up right before they walked in ..they wouldn't of had time to notice it
