He sort of did, in an implicit or indirect way, every time he told Penn to identify the exposed card to the audience. Which *might* be an added trick to how he can do so much, on top of being perhaps the best card mechanic living on the planet: from a computer science standpoint, you never waste one bit of information. Don't get me wrong: I'm not at all implying that it's a "cheat", but a person with his facility with manipulating cards could use such information to produce a performance even more impressive than that achievable with mechanical card manipulation alone (Penn and Teller must surely have known this, and professed themselves fooled, nontheless). Amazing on all levels! What a privilege to live on the same planet as such skilled people as this.

I love this. When Turner starts "dealing seconds", look at the expression on Teller's face. The only way I can describe it is "horrified glee". This is a man with almost 50 years experience in sleight of hand techniques, and HE can't see the move, even though he's barely two feet away.

Richard takes it a step further. He has several awards, one of which for being able to deal from anywhere in the deck. Look him up, this is just the surface of the man's talent with cards. Let alone other talents, like tight rope walking.

@@farout166 Turner only showed us one of his techniques, in truth Pen and Teller truly didn't catch it. The dealing, maybe, but what Turner didn't show is he can deal from anywhere in the deck. He also can shuffle it back into numerical order or any other order that he wants (among many other skills with cards). So even of you saw the "move" you didn't see everything else that mattered. In this case, there really isn't sleight of hand. There's no fooling. He even says it at the start. He's just that good.

@@farout166 Turner said exactly what he was doing. If P&T didn't catch that much, I'd question their sanity. What they couldn't do (at least evidently) was catch him doing it. I don't think they hammed it up at all, especially since he said, "This isn't to fool you, yet," and since P&T have never reacted so strongly to the "audience education" portion of *any* other act. Even if they did pretend, they might only get away with that once; but if they did that often, they'd lose credibility with the audience, and ruin the effect of the entire show. All it takes is for the audience to catch them in one deception in order to forever question whether their reactions are genuine.

Had the pleasure of working with Richard years ago in Detroit for a show called CONNED... He is the REAL deal. Watching him perform and practice is astonishing. I mean, there isn't a second I saw him without a set of cards in his hand. He can actually feel the weight of the cards and know when one is missing, and which one it is. Absolutely amazing.

He feels the cards by ink and weight with his fingers, but every deck he uses is basic straight from the maker. In fact, many card companies consult him when they change inks or paper to make sure everything is consistent, because he can feel them better than most of their machines.

His life story is absolutely insane. He went blind as a kid and decided to become a living god instead of living as a handicapped person. He refuses to use a cane or be treated as though he's disabled. He's trained his fingers so diligently for so long that he can literally feel a card and tell you what it is. He's a karate master, having trained in the most brutal school on the planet back in the '70s. He's been approached by mobsters from several different nations and offered 8-figure salaries to con people, and turned them down every time. Bicycle sends him cases of cards and trusts his opinion on card quality implicitly. The greatest magicians in the world respect him as the greatest card master to have ever lived. When P&T saw his name, they knew they'd be fooled and were just there to enjoy the show and be blown away by how absolutely perfectly he performs. There are a bunch of videos of him on KZbin, they're worth watching.

I just noticed when he's dealing seconds in blackjack, he says "I have 14," despite the fact that he obviously can't see the faceup cards. Just want ya'll to know he learned from the man that fooled Hodini. The literal god of card fixing. This isn't mere magic tricks, it's literally 4-6 magic tricks to make the one move fast enough and make all seem-less. Then he did another 6 magic tricks to fix and set the next move. Literally said it was nearly impossible to do unless the person put the hours in and now we know he needed to be blind. It helped him focus the craft of touch ect. And if he messed up once for Teller and Penn they'd see, but the tricks are too insane and slight for magicians to pick up all of them for a reason, to fix the game 100%. Some people know alot of moves, Richard Turner knows them all. Because he is blind, he will never fall into other's wrong dealings as well. Literally his curse became a godly gift for his craft.

The thing is, that card is their Force card. It tells the audience: You didn’t really have a choice, we made it for you. So for him to use that card suggests there was a force involved. But the only one I can find is when he gave one hand to Teller. He has them both wash the halves and the whole before handing it to him. Even if the sides have ridges that identify the card, no fishy shuffles happened, and any second card deal that isn’t from near the top in the first place would be caught immediately.

Ur Kryptoknight I figured most of that. The issue is dealing cards that ensure Teller wins. Unless the “dealing seconds” is close enough to the top, Penn and Teller will notice it. Which means the washed cards got organized into a good top deck; something hard to believe if the center had a near flush and 3 royals; 2 kings. And 2 other royals in the other hands; Teller got the last 2 Kings. For him to get the 4 Kings on top, with no shuffle, out of 20 cards, is low. To calculate the odds, he has to hit the first King within the first 6 cards or maybe 3 down from the top. 9/52 or 17.3%. Then for the next hand king, even assuming he did second deal past a king, he had about a 16/51, or 31.37% at absolute best; 9/46 or 19.56% at worst. Then he has to find a King within about 7 cards, 7/42 or 16.66% at worst. One burn and the other King: 5/40 or 12.5%. And I didn’t even consider calculate having to avoid giving any other hand a straight; one hand did have a Nine and Queen to connect to the pot’s Jack and King (with no 10 or Ace for the straight). Do you want to calculate how low all those odds are when multiplied together? Suddenly 20 cards (plus second deals) to get 4 doesn’t seem as likely. Unless those cuts after Teller ensured those cards in order, in which case me saying “the Three of Clubs is the card Penn and Teller use to signify a Force” is true; those pre-game cuts moved the cards to places that will become top as the game shuffles began.
