Misophonia isn't a phobia. It's a sensitivity to certain sounds and noises. Examples include but not limited to lip smacking, squeaking windshield wipers (or any high-pitched noise), repetitive or constant sounds of tapping and dripping, and many more (depending upon the person). It is a mental condition from birth that disallows the fading of noise into the background or ignoring people around you talking (the phrase in one ear and out the other is hard or impossible for anyone with Misophonia to understand and/or experience as their brains are wired in a way that disallows it from happening).
