They've changed how they do maths now to fit closer to other countries, but the way my generation learned (I'm about the same age as Lynix) is like this: (1) 17 Add the 7 + 4 = 11 +24. Move the first 1 to -------- the tens place 41 Add to the tens They've now changed maths to what Doni was saying where you round to near numbers and add those instead
