I think thes exercises are extremely useful especially for barefoot runners or people that use barefoot shoes a lot. I found a spot in my calf which was really tensed up and it shot tension to the foot. By pressing on this spot for a time, it just disappeared. Thanks for the instructions!

JJ Johnson Try this, one foot at a time: Sit comfortably in a chair with your bare feet on a smooth floor. Keep your heel in place and toes relaxed while you shorten your foot by drawing the ball of your foot toward your heel. Relax and repeat. The top of the foot over the arch will raise toward the ceiling. After getting used to the movement you can begin to do this while walking and running. Your feet will grab the ground with each step. Before learning this I had flat feet and a lot of pain when standing for a long time. Now I have tremendous arches. You can similarly work on the transverse architecture, but it's more difficult. :-) Good luck!

Thanks for the great tips for keeping the feet and ankles in good working order. I personally use various size super bouncy balls to massage the small muscles between the metatarsals. Thanks again for all the knowledge bombs that you give.

Massaging the feel is a great option. Using these drills will really help to get into the new ranges of motion you are unlocking! Great work Michael.
