Foot brake valve leaking, but the problem is not the valve! something is back feeding.I got the fix!

You just saved me a lot of money. I had a leak that I couldn't find for a long time. When it finally got really bad I could hear it from the firewall, but couldn't find the leak even with soapy water. Right about that time, my service brakes were becoming slow to release. Sometimes dragging for miles and severely heating them up. I replaced only this valve and solved both problems!

Brother! You're a life saver, got the same problem and replaced the same foot valve. Gonna replace the main valve under the fifth wheel and see if it fixes the air loss.

The ATR-6 relay valve has automatic traction control built into it. That's probably why it has that electrical connection.

The break might be sticky due to your air leaking or restriction in your air lines. If you haven't in a while train your air tanks of moisture. I have a video on that.

Can the same part be the reason for the steer tire on driver side to not rrlase the brake all the way since it's leaking air on the same position like in ur video truck is 2019 international c10 edition

You might have an issue on that front driver side line that's causing that part to leak. Maybe there is a restriction or fail parts. Also that slack adjuster might be bad, and if you changed your brake chamber recently and the length of the rod was not cut correctly that rod travel might cause that side to not operate correctly.

Mine was leaking without me holding the brake down i didnt check to see if i held down the brake it would leak worse.Just wanted to throw that out there because the fact that mine leak without me hitting the break and yours might only leak when the brake is applied might mean some different, like the problem is the front valve and not the back valve.i think you should get it diagnose to see what valve is the issue.good luck hope you get is figured out.

@@TruckerDave215 Did you find the problem? I have a truck I'm working on and same scenario as yours. It only does it when hooked up to a trailer, it leaks out the exhaust port on the tractor protection valve. (2016 International). Valve is located on firewall right next to foot brake valve.

You didn't get screwed. You got F-cked like everyone else who went to a repair shop.It should take no more than an hour and a half with no experience. Experience mechanic should be able to get this done in about 1 hour.

I changed all them parts except the foot brake valve guess I have to change it cause it still have leak and brakes locked on me everytyme I hit the brakes air pressure drop all way down

Do not change the foot brake valve without checking your Air Brake Relays. Your truck should have 3 of them 1 control each axle brakes. Take off the delivery lines with the truck off. If air is coming out, then you need a new relay, not a foot brake valve.

Hey buddy that’s really good video.. I have older Truck but it’s similar to yours .. The one that you just replace is it called ABS valve right?? I replace mine but it was leaking air on the Dashboard plus on the foot brake valve .. I replace the emergency brake valve on the Dashboard thinking that was the problem.. the ABS valve itself was loosing lots of Air every time I apply the Brakes .. then that was caused by the quick release Valve and I had to replace the quick Release valve that solve almost every problem.. except that air leak on the Foot Brake valve.. on my Truck it’s not leaking from the air lines it’s leaking on the front edge where the four screw are in one of the four corners it’s leaking very bad .. if I shots off the Truck in less than 5 minutes my air goes all the way to Zero. So please need some help.. thank you 🙏

Hey driver 👋! Sorry for the late reply. The best thing i can tell you is to get a test done because the foot brake Valve does go bad as well as the ATR 6 Valve that you saw me changed. My foot brake valve was looking from the corner like yours is but when i change it, the leak start to come from that round rubber guard that you saw me touch in the video on the foot brake Valve. Then i decided to have a test done, and after i changed that ATR-6 valve to this day i haven't had any problems. If you going to change the foot brake valve or the ATR-6 valve without getting a diagnostic done, keep the valve clean as best as you can in case you have to return it for the other valve.
